Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center

Nice staff, clean rooms, A little dated. No coffee in the room Alarm went off at 6 am and I did not set it. Should be checked before a new guest comes into room. Ruined my night’s sleep

Because of how expensive it is, $500 a night, I did not see it clean, savannahs, percudida.

The location was convenient for us We were charged extra for breakfast despite paying for breakfast to be included and double checking with BOTH the front desk AND the staff taking our breakfast order that we wouldn't be charged extra. Our refund was never issued despite talking to someone over the phone. I didnt realize I'd have to ASK for the food to actually taste good and be seasoned. After waiting over 40 minutes for our food and ordering in a basically empty breakfast lounge, I didnt bother sending back my extremely well done, chewy steak after asking for medium. Immediately after sitting on the bed the sheets and mattress pad both popped off. The pillows on the bed were worse than pillows I've used at a Super 8. I thought I was silly for bringing pillows with me for a single night stay but im so glad I did considering there were no extra towels, washcloths, pillows for blankets in the closet (things that are provided at every low grade comfort inn or hilton). The garbage bags weren't even set up in the cans??? I mean come ON. No hairdryer provided in the room??? The only available microwave is the cheapest one possibly made, 2 floors away in the lobby? Dear person that is reading this review, I am aware this may sound nitpicky, but after paying OVER 300 DOLLARS for ONE NIGHT at THE MARRIOT??? Don't waste your money, just stay at a hilton or something.

Executive Riverview Suite is everything you'd expect it to be. Clean, quiet, spacious, and amazing view. Bathrooom upgrades are very needed, but doesnt ruin the experience. However, a large part of this type of experience is proper concierge services. To which there were none. As in zero. Constant calls to the front desk, concierge service button, and dining option button from in-room all proved useless. No one ever picked up during our entire stay. The online ordering system through website was also broken and would give errors at checkout. Requiring you to go downstairs to the Fuel Restaurant or à la carte fir sny food or drinks. Aside from this I look forward to my next stay in Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center.

I will be asking for money back it was so bad, we walked into our room to see human feces everywhere in the bathroom and room. We request a new room and we walk into a room that has a view to the other tower instead of river view as we paid for. Everything was dated and dirty, breakfast was 35$ a person. Valet staff was great!

We did not get our room cleaned on 2 of 4 nights on 3 rooms our group had. The management only offered to review it Dont stay here

Nice location

Made reservations for two rooms through Expedia. I didn't like that I could not request adjoining rooms before arriving at the hotel. Called the hotel directly immediately after making reservation and because it was about a month out from arrival date, they could not take my request. It was suggested I call closer to my arrival date. Made another direct call to the hotel less than a week out and was told that because I booked the rooms through a third party, their policy does not allow them (the hotel) to take my request and that I would have to make my request through the third party (Expedia). Went to the third party about three days out and asked that they provide my request to the hotel. Response from Marriott two days later did not acknowledge my request, but gave me guidance for events happening in June. I arrived the first part of August. (?) I believe Kourtney at the front desk did the best she could in trying to accommodate our party of three adults for the two rooms. (One of the party being a ninety-year old not in the best health.)

Did not clean our room everday, never saw what the cleaning schedule was. Called down to front desk for more towels never received.ice machine did not have ice. Nice bar with good drinks.

The young lady who checked us in was very rude, and tried to stick us in a city view room when we had booked a river view, with no explanation or apology.

I loved the view and how close everything is to the hotel The rates are extremely high, no microwave in the room, maybe some kind of accommodation since the rates are that high it should at least included a small breakfast of some sort

Breakfast bar was good.

The elevators were very fast.

Kourtney and Crystal of the staff were great. Room was smaller than expected. View was partially blocked by adjacent buildings. No room to unpack luggage. Bathroom very small. No dinner coffee served.

food service was less than expected - shops closed - view from room less than described room was small and bathroom smaller -- no storage space to unload luggage

Beautiful view of river but a little pricey
