Rooms clean and comfortable. Historic hotel adds interest + great Mexican restaurant. Easy walking distance to 2nd street shops. Good parking

Checking in proved difficult since there was no one at the front desk. When I called for help, someone answered and directed us to the bar next door for assistance. The room we reserved and paid for was not the one we received, so I called again. I was told they weren’t sure how I managed to book that room and had tried to contact us to resolve the issue, but since we were traveling on motorcycles, I must have missed their call, and no message was left for me to return it. Ultimately, I was told the room provided was the best they could offer. We had reserved a two-room suite to share with another couple, but instead were given a small room with two queen beds, which was not suitable for two couples and all our luggage. No compensation was offered for receiving a much lower quality room, and I was told there were no other available rooms. Ironically, we were able to book another room with a king bed for less on Expedia and resolved the issue ourselves without the motel’s help. Although we knew the hotel was older, the poor check-in experience and lack of help to accomodate an error means I would not stay here again. Side note, the bar next door had an great bartender. The restaurant "The depot", don't waste your time. Horrbile customer service. Our group isn't hard to please and this pass through Douglas Wyoming was terrbile all the way around.

Great. Would recommend !!

What a surprise stay! Did not expect such a lovely lobby and hotel in general. Feels like you’re stuck in the 50s but with a TV. Thanks to the staff, bar and quietness.

Safe parking. Friendly staff. A lot of things to do in the immediate area.
-
Excellent hotel; spacious rooms in old historic building.
-
A gem in the downtown. Quiet. No Interstate trucks’ whine.

Changed from 5 to 3 stars. No phone, no ice machine, noisy, clean linens. If event is going on poor parking. Event people were nasty. Threatened to tow my car because I parked across the street and they were having a car show. Would have to walk 2 blocks because of event. So essentially got kicked out of room early. They cater to special events and not to paying customers .

We travel through the area often and always stay here. It’s almost a home away from home. And sometimes we get to play with the owners dog Scout. We love the history behind this place. It’s like you’re in the old west. But no bandits.

We only stayed one night, but it was quite nice. Smallish room and beds, but suited us just fine. There was carpet being installed outside our room, but this did not bother us at all. Cute, historic hotel. We had minimal interaction with the staff, but the interactions we did have were quite pleasant. Recommend if you are into historical buildings at all.

The room was very nice. The only downside we experienced was carpet was being replaced early morning during our stay.
-
Checking in was bad. Nobody was around and the bartender had to make a bunch of phone calls to get us into our rooms.

We arrived later in the evening and front desk was closed.Small note told us to check in at the bar. Bar staff was not expecting anyone and had to make several phone calls to get it together. The bar was full, rowdy and noisy. The unfortunate bartenders had to take care of a busy bar and check-in. Totally unsatisfactory process for some road-weary travelers.
