Good

I paid extra to stay lake side. But you can’t really see the lake on the 2nd floor. The hotel itself is old. Kind of run down. The breakfast is mediocre at best. The rooms are small, bathrooms are very small. Staff are interesting. Check in guy was nice but odd. Breakfast guy was kind of rude. The only thing I really liked was it was easy to get to from downtown and there are multiple fast food places near including a coffee shop. I would not stay here again, especially not for the price I paid.

In general this was a semi-affordable place to stay, but absolutely nothing special to make me ever want to visit again.

We stayed here just for the sauna. It did not work. There was no thermostat to see what the temperature was. We had to turn it on and wait more than 1 hour for it to get somewhat warm. The breakfast was mediocre. I had a yogurt as nothing else looked good. Our room was nice, so if you just need a room, it was fine.

Nothing besides it’s close to Lake Superior Cleaning of room, dude at the front desk never his teeth. Was so bad you could smell it in the lobby before he even spoke to you. Rooms are not as advertised online, I was expecting better for the price.

Good location. Parking. Mattress was hard. Pillows were too thick. Bathroom was small.

Kudos to the staff that takes such care to keep this property clean and comfortable, as the fixtures and furnishings are in dire need of an update.

Not a very clean hotel, but a convenient location.

Budget friendly, nice location, clean, quiet, very friendly staff. Comfortable beds. Fridge and microwave in the room. It was what I expected for a budget friendly no frills hotel. Small, cold-food breakfast (bagel, yogurt, cereal). Shower head wasn't the best.

Location was accessible to many of the venues/locations we were visiting, and on the Marathon course for cheering (our main purpose for traveling). The view of the lake was nice. The shower had great pressure and nice shower head! The bed was very firm and the pillows very small. For a room with king bed, king pillows would have been nice.

Terrible property, would never stay there again

The hotel was very dirty. The room had not been cleaned in a while with visible dirt, etc. on the walls and floors. There was hair in the bed when I checked in, an old contact on the floor, blood stains on the mattress. The room smelled horrible when we walked in. Do not recommend. It was gross.

Location and price Everything about the property is shabby, worn, carpets and needing paint, etc. trash by the exit cigarette butts, it just feels so old and worn and in need of an overhaul. It was just like this last year when I stayed at the same time. Breakfast is awful. Sink in our room had been cracked and poorly repaired with some sort of quickset epoxy that looked about as tacky as it could.
