Comfort Inn Dunmore - Scranton East

Pet owners beware. I honestly couldn’t tell you about the facility, because after driving 20 hours in two days, they refused to let us stay. We were moving our daughter and her two dogs across the country, had reserved our room and they refused to let us stay because we had more than one dog. They wouldn’t even let me pay for a second room. They literally kicked us out with nowhere to go at 11:00 at night. I’m never going to use Comfort Inn ever again and will tell all my friends and family about my experience.

Hotel was just OK. Room was clean, but several things were broken (comfy chair, microwave, decorative handles on things). At 4:00 AM, they were vacuuming the hallway carpet right outside our room. Bed was GREAT! Soft and comfy. Breakfast bar was nice. Staff was friendly. Seems like it was a place where a lot of semi truckers stay as there were lots of trucks in the parking lot and lots of men milling about in the parking lot on their phones. Good things: it was clean and staff was friendly.

The first room we were given had a dirty towel hanging in the bathroom and the air conditioning unit did not work. We were given another room, but not before being told I had to make an extra trip up to the room to show the desk clerk how the fan unit was not turning on. The second room had clear liquid spilled in the bathroom(Appeared to be soda because it ended up being very sticky.) Since it was dinner time and others were waiting on us, I cleaned it with Chlorox wipes the best I could and dealt with a sticky floor. The bathroom had a tub and toilet squeezed in there with a curved shower curtain track. It was just too tight in there; nowhere to put your fresh clothes. The elevators and common areas were uncomfortably warm. The breakfast area had only 1 or 2 left of most items when I went through the line just before 8am and breakfast went until 9. Also there could be a little more variety. I don't like hotel "fake eggs", so peanut butter is a nice alternative that wasn't available, neither were boiled eggs. Neither was a non-dairy milk nor any bread product that wasn't just white. The hotel is a nice facility and the staff I encountered was friendly enough, it feels like they just didn't care enough to make the stay as good as it could have been.

Had trouble at check in due to Expedia. Lady at the desk was patient and helpful. Had a nice king bed and clean room. Breakfast was good

Extremely strong chemical/burning smell in the room made it quite difficult to sleep. A/C didn’t work and the room was quite hot. Room was otherwise clean, though bedding and fixtures could use updating.

The wonderful women who work here are absolutely awesome they deserve a top tier pay if you ask me. Also close to a grocery store and fast food places.

Air conditioner worked but kept shutting off on its own would have to shut it off and turn it back on. Parking was good room was clean bed was soft and comfortable the shower was AMAZING and staff was good Wish they had a pool and bigger breakfast area not enough seating

The room was not cleaned properly. Dirty floors, sheets, and bathroom. Coffee was terrible. Lobby water did not get changed.

Parking excellent.

The ac worked ok. No issues with tv. Hot water was ok for showers. Room was ok. I didn't eat the breakfast, it didn't look appealing at all. The hotel name didn't match the tall sign outside the hotel. The hotel name had been changed but all of the exterior signs that were visible from the main road had not been changed making it difficult to locate this hotel. Had to call them to find it, gps was trying to take us to a wrong location as well.

Walk to supermarket and restaurants

The room was very clean, but had a musty smell. Maybe the AC unit?? I’ve stayed here before and never had a bad smell in other rooms. The staff was very friendly and the location was great.

Only thing I liked was being able to have my dog with me Bed was rock hard, bathroom had hair all over the floor, room and lobby smelled really bad, creepy men hanging out in the parking lot staring

The WiFi didn't work

The room was very clean and comfortable but there were some things that did not sit right with me during my stay. When checking in I was standing outside for a good 30 mins and had to call the front desk so the person in the back room ran out to their table to check me in. During my stay, when I had my room cleaned, the cleaning people threw out some of my shoe boxes that weren't even in the trash, just sitting in the closet with my other shoes, when I came to the front desk to ask about it all they said was that they weren't going to do anything about it, what's gone its gone and there is no point of telling the cleaning crew since they won't do anything about it. In my opinion that was just a rude way to go about it since it was a mess up on their end... I wouldn't go back honestly the only good thing was that the room seemed clean.

Right off the highway made it easier to travel the next day

Our bathroom was dirty and when I told the front desk she didn't offer any sort of reimbursement or other room to use. We were the first for the breakfast due to the fact that we were leaving it was not hot. Would NOT suggest this hotel to anyone.

was comfortable, and the refrigerator was cold. Also, the lady at the front desk check-in was very, very helpful and pleasant to talk to. Love that the hotel is pet friendly and loves the slot machines in the laundry room (we lost $$), but it was fun. No complaints. This is not a complaint, but the bed is high ...so having a step stool available for short people with be great and having extra pillows. Thanks so much.

However, its advantage is its convenient location with restaurants and supermarkets nearby.
