Fairfield Inn & Suites Marriott Effingham

I stayed one night on a vacation. The room was clean and decent size. It's an older hotel and could use a bit of an update but was very acceptable. Breakfast was fine. The hotel sits right by the highway so bring some earplugs to cut out the noise. No other complaints. I would stay there again.

No hot water the night of and the next morning. Really sucks to pay that much money and have to take cold showers. Never staying here again.

It was convenient. The pool is closed, the hot tub is filled in with concrete. We’ve stayed here at this location many times and it was always clean and well maintained. Unfortunately, that is no longer the case. The grounds are unkempt and full of weeds, but the kicker was two dirty wash clothes hanging on the shower rod. ?

The highway noise was horrible. It sounded like trucks were driving through the lobby of the hotel the whole night. It rattled the windows I could feel the floor shake. I got maybe four hours of sleep the whole night. My room was 80°. The selection of breakfast food was adequate, but the food was not hot. It was lukewarm.. I will not stay there again.

Breakfast a little underwhelming. Need to add Gluten Free Cereal (Cheerios) for folks with dietary restrictions

The hotel is clean and in a good location. The bed was comfortable, and even though the hotel is near an interstate, it was pretty quiet.

It was a good hotel. They had a pool although nobody was swimming in it. The room was comfortable and so was the bed. The access wasn't great. Only one elevator, and you couldn't get one of their carts above the curb, especially if you couldn't Park literally right next to where you walked up to the door. Also, a long walk to the front of the hotel, no free breakfast, no coffee in the main area, and there was a slight hint of a smoke smell in the halls.

Front desk attendant was fantastic.

We ended up there during a snow storm getting more snow than expected. The staff was very friendly giving us time to wait for the parking lot to be plowed and us to have our car cleared before leaving. They made sure we know that there was no rush (as in having to be out by normal check out hours)

The location was right off of the freeway which was nice. It was easy to find and there were plenty of restaurant options around. The hotel was very clean and our room was spotless. The rooms were also surprisingly quiet, we did not hear any other guests during our stay. The workout/fitness had a nice selection of cardio machines as well as free weights. Breakfast was as you'd expect. Overall very satisfied for the price. I put in a request for a first floor room due to us traveling with two working dogs. We unfortunately were given a room on the 3rd floor. Not ideal to be on the 3rd floor with dogs. The single elevator was slow and it was busy. Again, not exactly ideal when traveling with 2 pets.

Great room for the Value. Breakfast Buffet was good. Check in & Check out very easy.

After check in was completed I was told the elevator was not in service and they only had rooms available on the third floor. As seniors traveling with a small dog this was frustrating. I booked through Travelocity

Clean room.staff is fabtastic, property clean and modern.

Pet fee was listed at $10 and it was $50.
