Rodeway Inn Effingham North

I understand they are remodeling. The fumes of the paint or whatever they were using were very overwhelming. The TV remote was not working. The volume was not working. To turn off the TV I had to unplug it from the wall so I could sleep. The refrigerator was the saving grace. The bedsheets and blankets were clean. I hesitated to take a shower because it was very slippery. There were no safeguards in the tub. I had to wash up in the sink. There were smells of past smoking in the room.

Clean room but needs renovations. Cold AC.

The property was disgusting. There is not an actual employee on the property. We checked in later in the evening, but there was not an actual employee again at 0900. You check in/out via video chat. The toilet was clogged when we entered the room and would not flush. Who do I call...no one is at the front desk. I finally got someone to answer the outside phone line. They said there was nothing they could do until the next morning. When I ask for another room, the phone conveniently cut out, and I could not get anyone to answer the rest of the evening. We searched the hotel for a plunger and where able to flush the toilet. Didn't the cleaning crew notice that they toilet was clogged when cleaning it? I guess you get what you pay for. Do not recommend.

Nothing Disgusting smell - ammonia and dead fish, nasty and not clean, hair all over the bathroom, disgusting, no person on site just a kiosk

There was no breakfast I don't like taking to a kiosk did not see any staff

Virtual check-in was inconvenient and slow. SMALL rooms. No coffee pot. 15 of the 40 TV channels were unavailable. Had to wait until 9:00 to get my deposit back because no one-site employees

The beds were great, huge fridge The toilet was wobbly, the bathroom was dirty. Not like dirt everywhere but the baseboards were falling off, the grout was stained. No staff on site. Strange kiosk thing. Not a fan of that. I want a human on site.

The bed was big that's about it It took me forever for them to check me in plus I had to pay an extra 35$ to check in and wouldn't help me figure out what I did wrong and just took their time plus I had to keep repeating myself over and over and over again and all that did was piss me off

Only thing didn’t happen was breakfast & website stated free breakfast. May need a better way to true advertising.

This was the worst hotel I ever stayed in. Tub was filthy, we couldn't even shower. The room smelled horrible like piss. You check in and out with a kiosk machine. No hotel staff to complain to. Thr breakfast was from 5 to 9. WHAT BREAKFAST??? i called customer service they took my information but that was all. I was very disappointed. It was rated 4 stars and the reviews were good so we took a chance. Now the reviews say the same as mine and are now rated a 2 star. How does that happen? I would definitely not stay again or recommend anyone else to.

When checking in there was a computer, zoom camera, sign-in tablet and a room key activation setup with a remote person (who knows where) on a computer screen greeting you. That person was not easy to understand with a thick accent. It was if I was talking to a robot that I found hard to understand. After checking in and receiving my activated key cards, we went to our room only to find out the keys didn’t open the door. I was told by the human/robot it was a malfunction of the door so we were assigned another room. The room was clean and comfortable but the face of the heating/cooling system was secured properly and fell off in the middle of the night. Bottom line, when I go to stay at a hotel, I would like to be greeted by an actual live bodied person, not a person who may be 7000 miles away with a hard to understand accent.

The room and furnishings were older but clean. Air conditioning was very good. The check-in procedure was conducted through a contactless process with a screen monitor and captioned audio. The hotel was conveniently located near shopping and restuarants, all within walking distance. A good value at $69.

Did not like kiosk check in. No room keys a person on property had to let you in your room each time. Poor lighting leaking showerhead. Handicap room but had to step over a tall tub to get in. Really poor flushing toilet. Someone waa smoking pot in the building upon arrival but after advising staff it stopped. Several food options close. Parking waa dark.

There was a condom wrapper on the floor and hair in shower drain not sure how well the room was cleaned before we used it.

Parking was ok. But when you arrive you have to talk to a kiosk. Had a hard tome understanding person on other end. Room was beat up snd not very clean. Woild not recommend.

Right next to Walmart

The person behind the desk is actually on a video screen, taking/talking your info. Only person that I seen was a cleaning person. We had requested, and they obliged,a bottom floor due to a broken foot. They do allow pets.( there was hairs) Room had a lingering smell of cigarette smoke. Says its 100 % smoke free. The cooling/ heating unit was noisy when it kicked on. Didn't seem like many people were here. Location was good. Seemed safe. The price was low. Had a 5 1/2 foot fridge. Had microwave. Had coffee in the lobby. I was ok with the room. Wife said not to book this place again. Gotta keep the Mrs. happy.
