Motel 6 Elizabeth, NJ - Newark Liberty Intl Airport

The staff was good.

The shuttle worked well. The bed was clean. The bathroom was clean. The staff was nice.

We booked 5 rooms for our family, expecting a clean, safe, and comfortable place to stay. Unfortunately, the condition of the rooms was terrible. Several rooms had mold, poor cleanliness, unpleasant/stinky odors, and washroom leaks. In some rooms, the showers were not working properly, making the stay even more difficult. The overall condition of the rooms and property was far below what we expected. This was especially disappointing because we were travelling as a family and had booked five rooms, yet we experienced problems across the rooms. We had to deal with conditions that were uncomfortable and, in our opinion, not acceptable for a family accommodation. We paid for a proper hotel stay and did not receive the standard of cleanliness and maintenance we expected. Management should take these complaints seriously, inspect the rooms and address these issues immediately. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this location to families until these problems are properly resolved. We also believe a refund or appropriate compensation should be provided given the condition of the rooms and the experience we had for all the rooms we stayed.

Saw cockroaches crawling on the bed where I was supposed to rest after a long trip.

Desk guys and shuttle guy were very nice, very helpful, room was super dirty, lots of bugs, bathroom gross, ceiling had panels that were all sitting different so it made us paranoid there was something up in the subfloor. Not great

Perfect Stay

The staff wouldn't speak just handed me a key card. The room had mice. It was horrible

If you like a hot shower, this is not the place for you! No hot water. Shuttle took forever

Bed was unclean found hair that was clearly not mine and possibly bed bugs. Couldn't find visible signs of this but was itchy throughout the night so upon getting home chose to act as if I was exposed and took necessary steps

The airport shuttle was very good and timely.

This was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. Only stayed there because a mass flight cancelation gave me no choice. Cockroaches visible in the room. Distinct bad odor, collapsed ceiling tiles, filthy everything, little to no soundproofing. I was afraid to use the blankets so slept in my clothes (for a few hours at most) on top of the blanket (which had numerous holes from cigarette ashes, despite being a non-smoking room) with the lights on to keep the roaches at bay. In every category it was absolutely atrocious. And for all that was charged $200 for a night. Never again.

No safety locks. Missing ceiling panels. No smoking rooms smell of smoke. Afraid to sleep there.

A/c in the room was broken, when I spoke to the front desk about it he acknowledged that it was broken and offered me another room but warned me that they were ALL broken. EXTREMELY dusty room so allergies got bad as a result, smelled absolutely foul

Negative: Our room faced the busy road in front of the motel so it was very noisy. The air conditioner was only a foot away from the bed so it was cold in bed even though we just had the fan running. The condition of the room was pretty bad. The laminate floor was broken in several places, a plywood board supported the bath sink, the light switch plate in the bath was broken and missing pieces, and the refrigerator did not work. In general it felt like a slum.

eating dinner we saw a rat/mouse. We were offered another room....tried it but opted for a full refund. Though, this place is minutes from the airport and offered free shuttle service, I don't recommend this hotel. There needs to be major renovations. My boyfriend told the guy at the desk about getting an exterminater and the guy looked at my boyfriend like "yeah, I know".
