Econo Lodge Elmira-Corning

There were lots of construction materials everywhere. The doorknob wasn't working well, the shower curtain was ripped, the room smelled stale, the bathroom door was too close to the toilet and the bathtub. You can barely fit in the bathroom. They should do some maintenance on this property.

It is good for one night stay with Wallmart etc and restaurants close by

I had to make last minute reservations and Econolodge Elmira was easy to work with and reasonably price. They were helpful on the phone when I was call about a late night arrival to the airport and trying to find transportation. The ELM airport is small and closes up rather early so taxi service was sketchy.

Room was clean. Had a damp smell. Very basic. Fine for just a quick stay

Location off highway. Friendly, excellent helpful folks!!! We had a television issue, and received wonderful assistance to solve this problem. We had someone who would have benefited with an elevator. The stairs were very friendly and turned out not being much of an issue after all.

Good but Cheap hotel. Ok for 1 night stay.

Location was great. The room was good enough.

The property is currently being refurbished, so there’s a bit of dust here and there. All very temporary, I expect the place will be in mint shape once the refurb is complete.

The place is being remodeled so there is stuff laying around outside but not a big problem. The driveway needs repaving because of the potholes. The staff was nice and helpful. The room was clean, but the tub is very slippery and needs some grippies on the bottom. All things considered I would stay there again.

Very clean, convenient location, air conditioning worked well, staff very pleasant, beds were comfortable. The place is being renovated and our room was freshly painted so had some lingering paint odor.

The rooms were definitely "well worn" and could use some basic attention. Two safety concerns were identified in the room, including a smoke detector that had been taken off the wall and a non-functional security chain at the door. On the up side, hotel guests received a discount at the adjacent Dairy Queen!

Our room was clean..love the remodeling being done. ALL staff was extremely pleasant and help and accommodating to our needs.

Under renovation. Nice new mattress. Renovated room but the work is a bit sloppy. Old armchair, etc. Good water pressure in shower. Helpful staff. Great price for the area. NO BREAKFAST. Lots of shopping close by. But it's Econo Lodge, so don't expect wonderful.

The room was very clean. I enjoyed the stay and it was an excellent price point.

The Econo Lodge in Elmira was undergoing a lot of renovations before and during our stay, which changed some of my reviews from Excellent to Good only because of the clutter and distractions necessary for the renovations to proceed. Our actual room was perfectly clean and tidy since it was recently renovated/remodeled itself. Staff was extremely friendly and very prompt with needed assistance (like when the hot water was inadvertently turned off for an extended period during a room remodeling elsewhere on our floor). If I had any complaint about the property at all, it is the lack of any sort of breakfast provided for guests. Just a coffee maker (decaf was not working - only regular) and juice dispenser were provided in what used to serve as a breakfast area. Sometimes when heading out at 6AM, it's handy to be able to pick up a bagel or pastry on the way out! We stayed at this property for 4 nights to attend our daughter's graduation from Cornell University about 40 miles north. I'd actually recommend it for families in similar circumstances each May that don't want to pay the $1000+ per night rates in Ithaca around graduation time (that are mostly fully booked a year in advance anyway). The 45-minute drive from Elmira to Ithaca is absolutely lovely so was no obstacle to our having a wonderful experience soaking in all that Ithaca, the Cornell campus and the graduation ceremonies had to offer:) Overall, I would rate the property an 8 out of 10 - excellent for the price paid!

No continental breakfast, holes in the bathtub, door handle back plate wasn’t attached, very small toilet tub area, no hair dryer, no coffee maker, overall needs attention and updates.

The receptionist was extremely helpful and nice.

The hotel is getting a lot of work in the hallways so it was pretty messy. Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. Bath nozzle was very loose and falling off the wall. Shower was very hot the first day but not hot the second day.

They were currently under construction to upgrade so hallway walls and rugs were being replaced but the room was completed, clean and comfortable. The staff was very attentive and helpful and it was a great price. It was easy to find and convenient to the Horseheads fairgrounds. The driveway needs some repaving but they were filling in the potholes, irs been a harsh winter for pavement. In all, I would stay there again.
