Hilton Garden Inn San Francisco/Oakland Bay Bridge

This review is for both Hilton and Expedia. They refused to let my daughter check in at 11:30pm! I reserved two rooms for my daughter driving back to college with a friend. Turns out they have this stupid policy of requiring the person to be 21. My daughter was 20 and only 6 months away from 21! This was at almost midnight! What kind of heartless people made this dumb policy! This hotel is right next to UC Berkeley as well! Thumbs down for Expedia for not showing this policy clear enough. It’s hidden in small text. In fact Expedia has my daughter’s profile and couldn’t remind me that she is not 21 yet so I shouldn’t book it?

Good and convenient

Also it is hard to exit the parking lot without a room card. There is only one exit.

Parking way too expensive not parking there again but loved all other things.

Great stay for a family visiting SF. Free Emery bus was very useful to get to the BART station. Parking rate as expected for the area. Great friendly staff. One very minor thing is there is only one washer and dryer for the hotel, and a small minority that use it don’t seem to return when their wash/dry is over which is outside the hotels control.

Very clean and lovely room beautiful view on the 14th floor. The spa was very hot and comfortable and convenient. I did not love the $30 parking fee. Ouch

I wish there was a complimentary breakfast or a less expensive breakfast offered. It was a $25 buffet and the food looked no better than what you get for free with some other chains.

The staff was very sweet and helpful. We had a great stay. The rooms were super clean. The hot tub was delightful. It was a nice location. I would stay at this location again.

Excellent location. Good restaurant on-site but also lots of eateries, as well as shopping and gas stations, all within 1-2 blocks - clean nice beautiful area right by the water. Easy parking too. Great stay!

The room was a strong musty oder in the room, and the air conditioner made a loud buzzing noise every time it cycled on waking us up each time. The room wasn’t properly cleaned fingerprints everywhere and dirty windows. Thirty dollars to park in an unsupervised parking lot. Never again!

Parking can be difficult. Everything else good, great view of San Francisco.

Looks old on the outside but inside is great.

We stay at this property often because our children and grand children live in the area, and we are always pleased with the time we spend there. However the current parking validation process needs to be simplified, as it is unnecessarily cumbersome.

Clean room, comfortable bed and a nice view. The staff was very nice and accommodating. Wasn’t able to try the breakfast buffet or the burger spot so can’t speak on those.
