Sonesta Emeryville - San Francisco Bay Bridge

I would never stay here again! The room was ghetto, homeless people were lingering in parking lot, the towels and blankets were stained , there was burn marks on the blanket.I opened the covers and there was an eye lash and hair. It was late when my kids and I checked in so we had no other choice but to stay .

Clean room

Our room had a cracked window and shoe prints in the bathroom upon our arrival. While the room was otherwise clean enough and quiet, the shoe prints to start were quite a turnoff. Most of the property still looks in pretty good condition but the elevator (especially the buttons) appear quite worn. Worst part was - the $25/night parking. It wasn't as if parking was scarce - so the charge is already steep. Not sure (besides just charging people) what the fee is for because there is no security. Our car was broken into overnight while parked in the compound. It had its back to a fence and as in the front of the hotel within view of our room. I have stayed at this hotel probably 7 times (four times for personal/family travel) but I think this time may have been my last.

The room I was assigned had a filthy bathtub. It had not been cleaned. I used a towel to wipe what looked like sawdust or vomit to make sure it wasn't a stain and it came right off. I called the desk and was reassigned to the room next door. I am a senior traveling with an adult disabled son. We arrived late and my son had an accident as we were trying to push the luggage cart out of the doorway (it didn't roll easily and we have extra luggage due to my son's medical needs). I sent him to the bathroom while I got the luggage into the room. I went back to assist him and found the filthy shower. I called the desk and was told housekeeping was not available so we would have to switch rooms. I requested assistance with the luggage and the desk said they were alone so no one could help. He did assign the room next door and bring me the key and luggage cart. The morning staff was friendly and filled our water bottles with ice because the ice maker on our floor was not functioning.

Like the Location ; However the Lobby can be renovated to have a more friendly set up

The restroom to our room was not cleaned AT ALL. Kind of upsetting and luckily the front desk just switched us to a new room. House keeping did not change our sheets or towels the next day which is annoying to have to keep having someone let know these things but I didn’t because it should’ve been done in the beginning. Would not stay here again

This stay represented adding an additional day to an existing 3 night stay. Everything was handled smoothly. I was able to stay in the same room I had already spent the previous 3 days. Staff was friendly. The property was well kept up. Plenty of choices in the neighborhood for shopping and dining.

Great place to stay. Close drive to San Francisco. Shopping center nearby. Rooms are very clean and comfortable.

Clean room

We loved the location! Very safe, with easy access to transportation to the city. Lovely room with a view of the Bay, and the Bay Street Mall right across the street! We really appreciated the wonderful Sonesta staff, especially Brooke*, Shree, and Shenelle. They were more than helpful! We would stay here again, and will recommend to anyone traveling that way. Very convenient for AmTrak travelers. Probably our favorite stay on a 30-day Rail Pass! On our first morning, the breakfast buffet was available and it was great! The next morning, Dibe was in charge and took our limited orders instead, but Shenelle waited on us and brought items from the buffet. She seemed confused as to why we couldn't access the buffet. The third morning she was not there, and Dibe had us order from the little slips. All good, just confusing. Great melon and fruit cups!

The price and quality of the hotel was a good match for me. The staff was friendly and helpful. The was nice, comfortable, and everything worked appropriately. The neighborhood had plenty to choose from fir shopping, dining, and entertainment. In my case the walk to the train station was tricky due to the numerous overpasses that surrounds the area and Google maps telling me to down streets that we're not passable.

Comfortable beds A bit old.. Rooms smelt a bit, curtains had holes and one of the towels wasn’t clean. No room service so the room wasn’t clean for the duration of the stay. Not sure why we paid this amount

They did not have the room I had booked so they put us in an accessible room. It was actually two small rooms with a terrible layout. No desk and only one chair. The pool was supposed to be heated but was freezing. See above.

My car got broken into

Did an overnight between trains... Our room was clean, comfortable and quiet. Staff was very helpful. We opted for early check-in which allowed us to relax and enjoy our day in San Francisco.
