Holiday Inn Chicago North-Evanston by IHG

I will not stay here again. The location was wonderful, but the rooms are not maintained. We had mold on our ceiling, hair left in the bathrooms, and a general smell that felt that carpets had not been cleaned. In our bathroom, there was a picture that had water damage on it. The parking lot is tricky, especially if you have to park on the second level (stairs without an easy way to get to the lobby). Some parking spots had flooding (this was an elevated parking garage, so it seems that there should be drainage) and we couldn't get into our vehicle without our shoes getting soaked. Very odd lack of basic care.

The self service coin laundry is a big plus for a longer stay. The front desk staff was excellent. You can avoid parking fees by parking nearby for free overnight from 9 pm until 7 am. DO NOT park directly across the street as that is a ticket. There is free 2 hour parking about 1 block west of the hotel.

The property is in poor shape. Room was quite dirty and likely required maintenance years ago.

Room was great, bed was really comfy and the pillows were wonderful. The bathroom while clean and efficient was a little small and the toilet was a squatty potty. Luckily the toilets in the lobby area were the taller ones so my husband made trip down there once a day. Parking was nice being covered and the loading/unloading area was very convenient. Would definitely stay there again but would request a handicapped room hoping for the taller toilets.

The room had an odor. Breakfast was good. Front desk was helping. Air conditioning was adjustable so that was good.

It seemed very overpriced for what it was. Over $400 for one night.

Great place and great staff would definitely stay there again! Helped us with questions and things we needed throughout our stay!

good location with in walking distance to downtown attractions

Rooms were clean and inviting. No issues with parking. Neighborhood felt safe. Walking distance to most local spots. Dempster train stop is close by. Very cool old neighborhood towards the lake if you like to walk. We will definitely look to stay there again on next trip to Chicago.

The curtains were torn and the safe would not lock and the shampoo and such in bathroom was out and only one set of towels so not as elegant as the pictures showed and from doors are all stairs not easy to get into and staff was not friendly or asked a question they ignored me so not going to stay there again
