Garner Hotel Evansville East by IHG

I choose this hotel because it had breakfast and an outdoor pool. I required the handicap room for my mom because she needs the shower due to mobility issues. The room had a horrible smells that gave me a headache and smelled liked like old dirty diaper and vomit. I informed the front staff as soon as I got there but they did nothing. We spent one night in that room. I was hoping the next day the front staff would inform house keeping and address the smell, but when I returned nothing was done. I asked if they had another handicap room but they didn't. They stated the only thing they could do was put us in a regular room and give her a shower chair. The second room smelt better. I appreciated her help just wish the staff had better training to problem solve, I had to continue asking for different solutions until we came to that one. Next, we never got in the pool because it was disgusting. There was trash floating in it. I never saw anyone in it. The breakfast was minimal, didn't taste good, and was cold. Safe to say I will never stay at this hotel or any within this company again.

Everything was wonderful

The staff was absolutely incredible

We used to stay in this hotel about once a year when we visit Evansville, but it changed names and we weren't sure if it was still a good place to stay. We spend two nights there this past week and had a very good experience. Of the 3 days we were there, only 1 of the front desk staff was helpful, but the place was clean, breakfast was well-maintained and offered a nice variety, our room was nice and freshly painted, and things seemed in order. The one problem we experienced was a water leak in the elevator but it was during a 3-day stretch of monsoon-type rain that caused flash flood warnings like I've never seen in Evansville, so I think the leak was a result of the extreme weather and couldn't be helped. Overall it was a good experience.

Clean and comfortable

The room itself was clean. The pool was not at all. It was gross. The hotel is close to a highway and the noise level is very high. If I were to stay again I would request a room on the parking lot side of the hotel. And I wouldn't bring my swimsuit. Seriously, gross.

Travelled for work, breakfast was edible but not good eggs were horrible, staff was great dated hotel but clean. Pretty decent for price, clean bo bugs just dated.
