Red Roof Inn Fargo - I-94/ Medical Center

My son stayed the first night but we requested it be made right the next day or to refund us for the 2nd day so we could go elsewhere. Manager refused to work with us. She was rude and unprofessional demanding I not speak when she wanted to speak even though I can’t read her mind. Coorporate was closed so Expedia assistants could not get calls routed to the hotel, but put in requests for resolution. We explained this to local manager and staff and were called liars to our face. My son was in town b/c little sister inpatient for stage 3 cancer. It was cruel working with a manager on a power trip for what should have been a simple resolution. Had to end a call when not permitted to speak but had to handle drs. Then when we tried to check out and explain situation in-person after the first day, while awaiting resolution through corporate and Expedia, we were told initially that the manager blocked it, then told it was “illegal” to let us check out. We left after that first day, after being refused checkout, to go to another hotel. Because we had to get back to focusing on my daughter’s survival and not whatever is happening with hotel management. We would’ve worked w/ them on a resolution but they legit wouldnt let us.

Entrance smelled of marijuana. First room we got smelt of pet urine. They gave us a different room the following day which was much better. Coffee pot was full of stagnant water and filled the room. Hallways smelled of marijuana and often entered our room.

Breakfast was good. Same with the pool Kids should not of been in the pool after 11pm. Also should have a clock in the pool area.

I wasn't able to get to the breakfast as we left a bit early for an appointment. The coffee was delicious. The kitchen area was clean and smelled really good. I took a yogurt for the road that was great. I did not like that I could smell a strong smell of weed and or pot in my room while we were up in the morning. The people in the hallway at night were extremely loud so that woke me and another person up in my room.

Constant dogs barking, smell of pot and cigarettes, people coming and going, definitely didn’t feel like a very safe hotel.

I love the property but when I went to check in I had to pay extra I don’t know why but I already paid thru Booking in full but they charged me different when I went checked in. That they charged me more than what I paid for with Booking. I asked for a receipt was told it would be sent in my email but never got my receipt why they charged me more when the room was already paid for.

Dogs kept us up all night!

Close to the Sanford Hospital Room was dirty. Sheets had been changed and towels swapped out but nothing was cleaned beyond that. The shower was gross, the carpet was stained, my chair and blanket both had rips in the fabric, there was dirt/mystery substance on the walls, the main entry way and check in area smelled like weed, and the woman who checked me in was less than pleasant.

Room was clean, comfortable and well-priced. I stayed there after just having surgery, and a room like this met my needs perfectly. They offer a deep discount for hospital patients, which is much appreciated. The quality of the food was not very appealing. Nice selection, just not good quality.

Price through Booking Staff in the morning of Oct 29 rude and unaccommodating - refused me a receipt for my VA reimbursement- general manager was no better
