Our technician had to switch hotels after two nights because there was an issue with the facilites, we have been trying to get a refund with no luck so far - this is an extremely frustrating experience! The staff of reception, Tatiana, Mali and the other two (lady and man) are very good and patient. Have good attitude and are very friendly. Always kind and attentive to any need. Lots of noises! Very loud at any hour! Lots of marihuana smell everywhere due to customers use. Not a good spot for location since is surrounded by highways. No pressure in the water at all!

We waited ten minutes before the front desk employee even came to check us in. Took our stuff up and unpacked and went for dinner. Came back and got ready for bed. My friend went to the bathroom and turned on the light and there were FOUR cockroaches in there. She squished one, I wrapped it in toilet paper and took it to the front desk. The employee wasn’t there. We called on the phone and he came out. He was angry with me for bringing the dead cockroach to show him, but I am a disabled woman and my life experience has taught me that men often do not believe me or minimize what I say. He gave us keys to another room. We went to check the other room. There was white powder in the corners and on the floor and there were pieces of food and clumps of dirt on the floor. We went and packed our things, sent a message via Expedia that this was unacceptable and that we were leaving, slid the keys under the front desk barrier like we were told to do, and went to another hotel. Expedia reached out and the manager refused to cancel our reservation or refund us. I have photo and video evidence of the multiple cockroaches in our room and the mess in our replacement room. Expedia is claiming they can’t do anything else, so I guess we will be going to small claims court. Also, they charged me $390 for what should have been a $280 stay WITH the $50 refundable deposit. NEVER STAY HERE!

Roaches in the room. We notified the front desk they were sympathetic and we were able to switch rooms. It was late and if we weren’t hours away from home in the middle of the night we would’ve left.

Checking out the next morning I asked the managers name. The lady said she was the manager. I started questioning how they stated my card was charged them have my family and out locked out saying we didn’t pay. She reacted with ma’am this is the 1st time I’ve seen you but then knew every detail of what I was referring too. She got loud rude and very nasty. Then walked off. I asked for her name but all they would give me was Valarie. She’s a short black woman with glasses. It’s bad for a manager to get nasty with a customer when they made the mistake. She should have been apologizing to me.

The other reviews that spoke of cockroaches were seen after booking the nonrefundable room. This proved to be true. Roaches in the fridge and in the room running along the baseboards. The paint in the room had huge brown patch jobs that looked awful. The room felt grimy and just overall gross. The front desk is closed between 10pm and 9am so if you need anything you’re cooked. Super weird for a hotel. The floors were not carpeted which was prob for the best so they could be mopped; however, they did not appear to be mopped. We contemplated just leaving but it was almost 1am and dying behind the wheel isn’t a great alternative to a nasty room so we turned off our senses as best as we could and get a couple hours of restless sleep. Would not recommend to anyone that enjoys a clean room.

Full kitchette but no dishes, coffee pot anywhere on site. No hot water..Luke warm at best so had to take quick showers.

Like nothing but marijuana in the hallway the assistant manager was very rude and has no customer service. The beds were very uncomfortable and rooms could use a lot more detail cleaning. I wouldn’t stay here if they let me have it for free.

Close to Carowinds Amusement Park Elevator wasn’t working. No toilet paper in room. TV remote didn’t work even after new batteries, so no tv either. Many long term live in residents loitering outside the side and front doors. Two men smoking a joint in the landscape area back behind my vehicle. Mulch and landscape itself was dry, tired and old. Parking lot muddy… dry red clay all about it. Paper thin walls. Sounded like someone above me was moving furniture until after midnight. I could hear an adult for hours, but then later only the smaller pitter patter of what seemed a child up by themselves, seemingly pushing the chairs across the room. Then around 3:00 a.m., very loud foul mothed women beside me came in and were talking about orgasims and the like… they didnt pass out until about 5:00 a.m. it was as a very awful stay. Floors were filthy. Bathroom sink didn’t drain well, backed up. Had to clean the shower walls as something brownish was streaked on 2 sections of the shower walls. The tv and microwave had been wiped but were streaked all over. The kitchenette backsplash had grease all over… the top of the tv and shelf it was sitting on was all sticky with grease.. I felt it as I was trying to get the tv to work without a remote. The door knobs, handles and light switches were nasty, fingerprints all over them. Glazing coming off in the tub/shower and the toilet handle itself seems painted and was peeling. Our bed was not comfortable at all, but actually appeared to have new sheets and some pillows. That truly was the only reason we stated. Had the bed been gross, we’d left for sure. Surprisingly no signs of bugs. Overall, I wouldn’t advise families traveling to Carowinds to stay here at all. Not the right fit.

There was little to like- we got there late due to flight cancellation and only needed to stay overnight- but despite exterior the rest was subpar- no working elevator and rooms appeared dilapidated and made you wonder about cleanliness, toilet ran nonstop In the early morning no one at desk and found access back to airport highly challenging Sorry this was typed in the wrong section but seeing this request for a reply just made me start typing See above

Rooms are not entirely bad I have seem worse, but you do see the wear and tear from long term stays. People are definitely not cleanly and house keeping is not doing a great job at up keeping the property. Halls smell like smoke and mildew, updates should be made to these hotels every few years to help maintain them.
