Beachfront Palms Resort Galveston, an Ascend Collection Hotel

It’s right next to a baller spot on beach. Staff was helpful as there was issues with a few things. However made everything right/so I recommend ya stay the night!

The ROOM: I booked a partial view and the pictures were deceiving. The pictures made it seem as if I had a personal balcony with an ocean view. It was just a walkway to the room not a personal balcony. The hotel is old and it looks like it was just painted over and no real work to upgrade the property was done. The room smelled like old wet towels. Luckily, I brough my own Lavendar diffuser to help with the smell. The food was a decent meal compared to other places. The location is not bad, however, if you are walking, you have to walk a distance so there is no jay walking just to get to the beach. But I will not be returning or booking again.

Every thing was nice. The only thing was the elevator was kind of smelly.

The property is old and dumpy. Staff at the front desk were nice enough. The elevator sounded and felt like it was going to break down. The room was awful. Hard, short beds. The bathroom was big, but visable dirt on the floors and the shower head was not adjustable so you had to practically lean on the wall to be under it. The ceiling and light switch covers looked live they warped 3 decades ago. The towels were stained and just about everyone had long dark hair in them. The pool looks nothing like the pictures on the website. I was booked to stay 3 nights but left after one because it was so bad.

Great price, great location. Full breakfast! We were there for the beach, and it was a 5 minute walk from room to chair on the beach.

Close by everything you need. Right across from Kroger. The beach is a short walk across the street. My Family and I had a great time. Will be going back!

The rooms are definitely dated. The shower in our room was not working well. Shotty bathroom door. And the A.C unit was a clunky and super loud. Pool was murky as well. Elevator was scary. Breakfast was decent but nothing to write home about.

It was old and it smelled awful. We were switched to a different room and that one smelled terrible too

I would suggest to stay away from this place. It’s very bad and dirty. Tub clogged. Sink clogged. Toilet does not flush. Never again for sure

For the price it definitely could have been in better shape and at least had a cleaner pool. So in my opinion it's overpriced for what you get but for the spur of the moment trip it did its job

Room only had one towel and one wash cloths for a 2 night 3 day stay. Housekeeping never gave more towels.

Been going there for years nice place

Please double check when cleaning rooms as when we stayed there we found hair and eye lashes on our bed we couldn’t stay the full 2 nights we literally had to leave early because of that.

Our temporary stay was disappointing. We ended up leave on the first night and refunded for the remainder of the stay. The campus is not attractive as advertised. Only ONE elevator worked. We looked pass the opossum that sat in front of our door at 12 midnight and we couldn’t get it n the room without assistance BUT once in the room, there was no hot water!!!!!!! Very inconvenient travel stay

The rooms are very clean and the beds and pillows are perfect. Best night's sleep ever! Loved it and highly recommend this place. Walk across the street to the beach without having to pay for streetside parking.

Continue to book this hotel when in Galveston. Cost effective, clean, and they continue to upgrade every time.

Location is nice. Complimentary breakfast was really good. Hotel is really outdated. When we got to our room the lights in the bathroom weren’t working. Maintenance was quick to fix it though. Toilet didn’t always flush. A/c in our other room stopped working so it was hot through out the night but they did get it changed the next day.

Staff members were great. Breakfast was great and clean. Room bathroom needs to get some touch. Really close to beach and market. Over all 3 to 4 starts.
