The Tremont House, Galveston, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel

The parking situation at the hotel is non existent. So you are forced to valet or drive around the Strand until you find parking on the street. My vehicle sustained damage that I noticed after using the valet and the hotel investigated and said it was pre-existing damage which was not the case. I used to enjoy staying here but not at the expense of my vehicle and the rooms had a damp smell as well.

We found the hotel to be extremely nice. Everything in working order. The rooms were well appointed and luxurious. The amenities were also very nice. The cafe made an excellent latte and the bar served a great Lemondrop Martini. We especially enjoyed the Shrimp Mushroom Flatbread at the Rooftop bar. Staff was knowlegible about the area, the valet parking team were quick and efficient even with our multiple tripsveach day. Thank you for a great stay.

But the true highlight is the Rooftop Bar. Breathtaking views, delicious food, and handcrafted drinks make it an unforgettable experience. It’s my go-to whenever I visit family in Galveston.

The hotel and room are very nice, clean, and comfortable. It is walking distance to the strand and several restaurants. The employees at the rooftop bar were great. The staff was horrible, the lady at the desk was not friendly and I had to get her attention to check into the hotel. She then tried to overcharge me for the cruise parking, and asked me to show her the price that it clearly states right on the website for the hotel after arguing about it. The guy at the door the next morning was rambling and yelling to other employees that the night employees were using the lift elevator for luggage, we didn't need to hear all that. Then the shuttle driver yelled in my face when we showed up at 1145 for a 1200 like they told us to, that he was picking up for the 1130. Then told us to get on anyway and dropped us off at the wrong terminal, so we had to walk all the way to the other one, with our luggage. We chose to walk to the hotel when we got back so we didn't have to deal with him again.

The historic look and feeling. Property was good. What I didn’t like is that I find out a month later that I was charged twice for parking. The hotel charged my personal credit card and the PNC parking also charged my husband company card. I reached out to the front and spoke to them and Denise supervisor was VERY Rude and was talking to me like I was a kid. When I’m the one that should be mad for there mistakes. Then Denise’s manager came on the phone and heard me out and ended hung up on me. After that I got a call from the parking supervisor Tim he was very nice and understanding on my situation he said he would look it the charge and credit my card back. Tremont hotel needs more employees like Tim!

Loved the room. Loved the location to the strand. The staff was great. Valet parking was very slow. We ended up parking on the street. You also had to go to the cafe for ice.

Very comfortable bed! Easy walking distance to many locations near by!

Property was close to everything downtown at the Strand district. Was close enough to walk to the port to get on the carnival jubilee.

The property was located in the center of town. Only 1 block from Main street and two blocks from the water. Lots of shops and restaurants.The roof top bar was great,even at 103 degrees it was shady with a great breeze really enjoyed the view.

Absolutely beautiful, the staff was amazing.

2. The remote for the TV seemed way to complicated and I ended up watching U tube on my phone. Like normally when you hit guide it scrolls through everything. Otherwise nice 1 night stay.

Everything about hotel was very nice .

Large space. Nice furniture. Hotel had a birthday party and a DJ playing directly under our room so there was nonstop thumping and the floor was shaking until 11:00PM. We were not informed of this before checking in and we arrived 3 hours early. There was also a small roach running around in the half bath which I killed and took to the front desk. The shower in the small bathroom did not drain well and needed to be periodically turned off for water to drain and the mattress in the smaller bedroom sinks in the middle. There is also no microwave in the room.
