Rodeway Inn Gastonia East

My Expedia reservation was not accepted by this motel. The clerk claimed that the credit card used for the reservation did not match the one I presented at check-in. I showed him my receipt which showed that the credit card used online and the one presented at check in were the same one. It did not matter. Because it was already midnight, I paid additionally for a room separate from my Expedia reservation. I'd like a refund please.

Everything was just terrible I had a family emergency and they made me pay twice and it was nasty poor pluming poor carpentry work poor maintenance in general the staff was very rude and there was bed bugs everywhere and like 3 needles that were used

AWFUL

Air did not work.Told the front desk clerk.One of the maintenance team members was sent to look at it..Due to a language barrier he didn't understand what we trying to explain to him about the issues with the AC.The unit itself Turned on and it would blow cold air while on but it would randomly shut off.. Sometimes after 5 mins,other times just 2 mins..The longest was 7mins.Needless to say we wasn't cool this night bc maintenance just left and never came back..I will say he honestly thought the issue was resolved when he seen the AC unit turned on etc..I didn't push it as we only were staying that night.. However it was hotttt as a MF,we didn't sleep very well and although minor,it was still a pain in the arse..Other than that it was a ok place to stay.

I understand that budget motels may not be luxurious, but every guest deserves to feel safe and be treated with basic courtesy and respect. Unfortunately, this place failed on both counts. I would strongly recommend that others look elsewhere for accommodations.

Convenient

The place was a dump

They were no help with anything they're whole family lives on the bottom floor so they don't care what it looks like. Small plants all over the walk away and people watching at every turn. Not a good place to try to sleep. They locked me out with 30 minutes on room and wouldn't let me back in to get the test of my stuff.

Terriblly ghetto. Poor English speaking staff. $50.00 cash deposit required that was not listed. No SERVICE ANIMALS allowed: illegal.

The male desk clerk has the worst attitude. The towels are nasty dingy. The sheets are also dingy and stained. The comforter was the same with white spots on it. Luckily, I travel with linen; sheets and towels. The only saving grace was there were no bugs!

I guess 1 roach wasn't so bad huh ? That the other roaches wouldn't show they faces, only one came out to greet me.

Minutes after stepping into our room, we were met with cockroaches. There was feces wiped all over the bathroom walls and toilet. The door didn’t close all the way even when shut and locked. And our room key didn’t work for us, even after 3 separate trips to have it fixed back to back. I honestly think the front desk attendant was messing with us intentionally and not fixing the key when he said he was. Overall a terrible experience.
