Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Memphis/Germantown by IHG

1. Hotel was not up to Holiday Inn Express standards. 2. Room smelled musty 3. Breakfast - ? 4. THIS ONE will cause me not to stay at this location again. When we arrived and checked in on a Friday night for only one night. A $150.00 hold was placed on my charge card. This was in addition of the nightly charge of $150.00. I WAS NOT TOLD OF THIS AMOUNT OR TRANSACTION...We would not have stayed. This charge did not credit back till the following Friday...A WEEK..I did talk with the manger several times. His explanation. " Well we put a hold from $30.00 - $250.00 because Memphis is not so safe. We were not in Memphis. We were in Germantown. I said. " Who decides this amount ? " I am 79 years old. What do you think I am going to tear up in one night? Sorry, I usually let things pass. BUT BEWARE if you stay at this HIE you may have $30 -$250 hold on your card!! What I did like 1. Location 2. Staff was friendly 3. Room was clean just smelled musty. There done. I feel better!!

The free breakfast and 24 hr coffee is wonderful.

What a nice hotel! It was clean. The staff was very efficient and friendly. The location was good. The parking lot was well lit and seemed to be in a very safe location.

Overall a nice quiet hotel to stay at.

Excellent service, friendly staff and convenient location.

The location and the comfort of the bed was exceptional. We had a second floor room, and when we got to it, loaded down with our luggage, neither electronic key card worked. While I stood guard over our luggage, my husband rode the elevator back to the first floor to have the cards fixed. He then rode back up, only to find one card working. Also, what happened to the usual coffee pots in the room? That is a big perk for us. The complementary shower caps? The little extras that we relied on during our Holiday Inn visits? We paid far more for his room than our past Holiday Inn stays, and it was stripped down of these complementary items. If this is the new way of Holiday Inn, we’ll probably start seeking out other hotels.

The bed was amazing! Most comfortable bed in any hotel I’ve ever been.

Bacon and shower pressure good. Lot of opportunities for improvement elsewhere.

It was a great stay. Plenty of options for breakfast. The bed was comfortable, and it was close to the store we were working in.

Noise. We got put on the bottom floor under a room full of elephants. Stomping all hours of the night. People slamming doors at the end of the hall coming in and out.

The staff was friendly and helpful and the facility was clean. The location was perfect for our stay! Nothing everything was great!

The staff were all helpful and friendly. The breakfast was well supplied, including better tasting coffee than most hotel free breakfast bars. The location was lovely, with direct access to the Germantown Greenway, a paved walking path along by the Wolf River. We enjoyed a morning walk before checking out. We will stay here again.
