The elevator and hallways were so hot, but at least the trim was cool. Our refrigerator was not cool and had to request a new one.
-
The property is extremely old and run down. Dilapidated best describes it. From the rickety elevator, the dark hallways and the musty rooms. An unpleasant experience all around.
-
It was\n Just okay, nothing special.
-
It was disgusting. A beautiful property that has been horribly maintained. No GM, people quitting and fighting in front of me. Frankly I should be given a refund.
-
It is a lil old and run down but a beautiful property and good food

I did not like that my room was never touched the hole 4nights I stayed, and also when the ground crew mowed grass was thrown all over my new vehicle?
-
1 of the worst over all places I've ever stayed at on vacation. I'd actually go as far as asking for a full refund .
-
Comfortable bed, king size. Clean, spotless room without any odors or smoke. Did not eat any meals there because we were at race track all day. Pool and grounds were immaculate!
-
The property is located in a quiet area but could use some upgrades. The rooms were nice. To find some unique restaurants or night life is pretty limited unless you drive a ways.
-
The Tavern & Grill in the Madison bldg was excellent. Great food and drinks. People were very nice and welcoming. Not so much the Hotel. Musty smell in room. Brought spray but smell kept coming back. Could have been air conditioning. Room was old, bed was okay, pillows very uncomfortable. Was for one night because of NASCAR Race. Most likely will not be back.

Exceptional

Location of property was nice. Enjoyed the quiet area. Was able to walk around and site see. Having a restaurant on site was enjoyable as well. No microwave in room to heat up leftovers. No exhausted fan in bathroom for when showering.
-
Signage could have been better as to where to check in. Other than that room was exceptionally clean and staff friendly!
-
The place on the outside needing attention. Weeds lawn not mowed. Lots of broke items. Was told it is being sold. Staff very kind.
-
This is a very unique hotel unlike most people will visit with the underground, tunnels the for style, the different building to discover and see and the courtyard. Gorgeous property, well-maintained, especially for its age unfortunately, they said it was just sold and will probably be torn down. Would visit this again and a heartbeat when we’re back in Richmond.

Staff was very nice and helpful, I'm handicapped and require help above and beyond the average guest, and I found them more than willing to help when required. The room was kept exceptionally clean, made up in a timely manner and whenever I encountered staff members they were all helpful and polite. I can't speak to the food and bar as I did not use those facilities. All and all, I would recommend the hotel to all of my friends and family!
-
It’s historic Very run down, FILTHY pool, staff acts like you’re bothering them if you go to them with a question.
-
The location is beautiful, the beds were comfortable, the staff were nice and the food at the restaurant was very good. It was a nice place to stay for the price! The bathroom in our guest room had multiple hairs on the floor and in the tub, very noticeable hairs that should have been cleaned up by housekeeping prior to releasing the room to be assigned to a guest.
