Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Goshen

Overall, it was great. Easy check in, clean, and well maintained. However, breakfast was not very good and the room temperature was not well regulated. It would cool down, but got really warm before it would kick back on and there was no way to leave the fan on to keep the air moving.

Most important to me is cleanliness and lack of smell. The hotel has all of that. I wish they had told me a check-in that they have gone beyond Green. Any towels I got I had to ask for, any trash that was emptied my husband did, we never got new plastic cups, our bed was never made. We stayed there seven nights. I don’t know if this is a new thing with hotels because I haven’t stayed that long before, but I was underwhelmed. Breakfast, if it is important to you, is mediocre at best. They do have options, but nothing very fresh. They do have a bowl of apples that say rinse before washing, but no way to rinse. Coffee was cold one morning and empty another, and it took them 15 minutes to fill. If you prefer quiet, ask for something away from the main road as it is noisy. You can’t get away from the train. If I hadn’t booked on the third-party site, I might have moved on. Again, the room was very clean and it did not smell.

Ok stop. Breakfast options were a bit disappointing. Perhaps not enough guests to keep it fresh. Everything else was good.

Stuff great

This review is about the breakfast. They had bagels and other bread for toasting left from the day before. The coffee choice was decaf or bold. I asked for hot water to add to coffee but still couldn’t drink it. There were a few little coffee mate creamers. No white sugar packs. No hot oatmeal at 7 am. They had scrambled eggs and turkey sausage patties, a variety of things that could be used for oatmeal, bananas, apples, yogurt and orange juice. I’m sorry but nothing was tasty or looked appetizing. We did have to leave shortly after 7 so they may have put more things out after we left.

Best night of sleep ever at a hotel. We slept through breakfast hours it was so quiet.

I liked how clean the room was and comfy bed.

Everything was excellent, but comfort was just a slight issue (all the pillows were way too soft so I didn't sleep the greatest and awoke with neck pain). Suggesting to offer a pillow menu or pillows that range in firmness.

The staff was very nice and helpful but the pool had ants in it and there wasnt many options for breakfast. The shower was very slippery, it needs a grab bar inside of the shower not just outside of it, and the room handles were hard to open

The location of the breakfast was fine. The breakfast itself was questionable. The eggs looked terrible and the sausage wasn't much better. I stuck to the toast. The staff were super helpful. They performed brilliantly in a really tough situation. I understand the problem of staffing. However, it would be nice to know that during the whole stay our room would not be cleaned. For seniors, the price is a lot for no service. I have a fresh towel at home every day and it would have been great to have at least that.
