Candlewood Suites Greenville NC by IHG

During the night, I was woken up by a bug in my face, and by the next day I had bug bites from the room. This was not simply an outdated hotel; it was a serious cleanliness and sanitation issue. The carpet was disgusting, the amenities were old, and the entire room felt poorly maintained. We reported the bugs, bites, and condition of the room to the hotel. Six days later, nothing meaningful has been done to resolve our complaint. Given the bugs, the bites, the condition of the room, we should get a refund.

Wasn't much to like other than the fact that we had a place to shower and sleep while visiting our daughter. The room was dated, dirty, and felt like it had been lived in for quite some time. Drawers were broken, dried nasty filter in the coffee machine I found in the morning...ultimately, we didn't want to touch anything and just wanted to leave first thing the next morning. The price was ridiculous because it was parent's weekend at ECU and the stay genuinely didn't warrant a quarter of what we paid.

The staff was outstanding. Upon checking in we had a couple of minor things that needed to be fixed/added in our room. When I notified the front desk, the person on duty personally took care of it within 15 minutes! I was very impressed-and appreciate-their level of customer service

Clean, nice and clean. That was one of my concerns, and it was clean. Had a little problem with key cards,but outside of that, wonderful.

You have no idea the danger, emotional stress, and anxiety this place has caused me and my family. Having to bag all of our belongings due to the FEAR of possibly bringing something back home with us.

There was an issue with my handicapped room, but the staff made it right. He was very helpful. I will be staying there again. Extra points for having a recliner.

liked the friendly and helpful staff. the rooms just enough very clean location perfect set back from road very quiet would have like a restaurant or cafe on site

As for critiques: 1) Everything in the room had a fair amount of "wear and tear", particularly in the bathroom. It seems things could use an update. 2) The carpet and beds all felt slightly damp. I'm not sure whether this was a cleaning mishap or a room humidity issue. Either way, we had a difficult time sleeping in slightly damp beds, but we had arrived too late in the night to bother getting a different room. (NOTE: some friends of ours who stayed the same night did *not* have the same problem in their room.)

Comfortable. Full sized fridge & dishes for cooking & cleaning. Live roaches in the bathroom!!

Nice accommodations, staff was very friendly, could use a little updating.
