Holiday Inn Express Baltimore-BWI Airport West by IHG

The breakfast was good and well stocked. We enjoyed the clean and inviting pool soon after checking in. Staying at this hotel made flying out of BWI a breeze because of the shuttle.

The convenience of the airport shuttle was a big help. And the staff were great. Everything was very clean. We would certainly return to stay there again.

Check-in was somewhat stressful and the woman changed the rooms we had blocked together stating who did it was wrong and in turn she was wrong and the rooms were near but not beside each other as requested, the gentleman I spoke to who created the original block was correct. Breakfast was decent, the ladies handling it were very nice and helpful, only complaint would be that there weren't more fresh fruit options (they had bananas, oranges and apples) and they only had sausage options for the protein. However my main issues were that the shower/bathtub wasn't draining, you have to hold the plunger down for the toilet to flush correctly and the beds are rock hard ! 😭 the place is rather outdated outside of the lobby and food area, everything looks great when you first walk in but once you get near the rooms it is a few decades behind the lobby/food area. It was nice having the dennys right there as an additional food option and it is close to other shopping/food options as well as gas stations while also still being a quiet area. We were woken up at 2 AM by other guests screaming in the hall but that's not on the hotel itself, overall the trip was okay, I will be thankful to sleep in my own bed after that mattress tho, the floor may have been softer honestly.

I really appreciated Cheryl from the front desk. I arrived earlier than check in but Cheryl was very nice to me and was able to check me in earlier.

Great breakfast

When we arrived around 1:00am there were already families waiting in the lobby. We waited approximately 20 minutes before the front desk associate came out. During that time, he repeatedly yelled from the back office that he was "on the phone" and "busy," and at one point told everyone, "It's going to be a while, so take a seat." This was after families, including mine, had been traveling and were exhausted. Once he finally assisted us, his demeanor was cold, dismissive, and completely unapproachable. He avoided eye contact, and made no effort to communicate professionally. Even simple attempts at conversation were met with indifference. Customer service is especially important during late night arrivals, when guests are tired and simply looking for a smooth check in experience. Unfortunately, this employee's attitude turned an already stressful situation into an unacceptable one and completely ruined the start of our trip. I understand that hotel staff can have challenging shifts, but professionalism and basic courtesy should never be optional. If this associate is unable or unwilling to provide respectful customer service, he should not be placed in a guest facing role.

Only 2 small things were room service crew were rather loud in the early hours of the morning in the hallway and our comforter was ripped. Other than that very nice rooms and staff. Nice location.

Everything was great. Plenty of food.
