Candlewood Suites Harlingen by IHG

The only positive was the staff—they were friendly, accommodating, and helpful. Unfortunately, the condition of the property outweighed that. I would not recommend staying here and will not return

Room was somewhat clean however the carpet felt damp and there was a smell like mold. The refrigerator was making a loud sound and Freezer part was not working. The hallway air was set at 80 degrees!!!!! It was hot . Also the rooms had the unit on window not central air. I complained about loosing my food because refrigerator was not working properly and they did offer another room, unfortunately this room’s carpet felt damp too, this was a smaller room and also no central air. When I booked I kind of went by others reviews but that didn’t work as my experience was different. Hotel had a run down feel to it like a trucker stop type of hotel. I will never stay at this chain of hotels again.

If felt very humid and I had the AC at 65.

Very rude girl checked me in. Room smelled very musty and damp. I will be in this area working for 4-6 mths but will not return.

The pictures are either highly outdated or incredibly photoshopped because the property looks nothing like this. The parking is minimal, they allow pets/service animals, but there is nearly no place to walk your dogs to use the restroom, there is moldy/mildewing grout lines in the bathroom, the carpet has stains all over, if you don't keep the A/C at a very cold temperature, you can feel humidity in the rooms, and the furniture has severe wear marks. My room only had 1 night stand in it. Also, if you have a service animal, be prepared to pay an animal fee unless you're an IHG rewards member because when I was checking in, the guy at the front asked if I was aware of IHG's animals fees and then asked if I was an IHG rewards member. After he pulled up my account, he told me that they would waive the animals fees since I was an IHG rewards member, even though my dogs were service animals. This property lacks education and training, clean rooms, adequate parking, and places for you to walk your dogs.

Every thing Nothing

Location Definitely needed to be updated. Cracked tiles in our bathroom. Stained carpet, walls and trim very stuffed up and it needed paint. It didn’t even have an ice machine on our floor. We have a refrigerator in our room, but the icemaker didn’t work. We checked out at 6:30 AM and no one was there so we put our door keys in the box on the front desk. Around 11 AM I get a charge on my credit card again. I called the hotel to find out what happened and I was told that they called my room and I answered the phone and said that I was staying another night. Still waiting for that credit to come on my card.

Nice comfortable and quiet place. Would stay again.

My room was missing recliner and a dining chair and knob for stove timer

The price was good. The bed was comfy. The hallway and the room had a bit of bad oder.

Room was clean. Towels were not in the best condition. Room furniture was a little beat up. Vinyl floor in the entrance was sticky.
