Homewood Suites by Hilton Harlingen

The person who checked us in on Monday was very nice. Toilet paper hadn't been refilled and bathroom wasn't clean. There were people loitering outside the hotel, which made us very uneasy. There was a lady walking through the hotel lobby with a shopping cart who was clearly homeless. The girl behind the counter was trying to get her to leave. She seemed alarmed and told us she was getting ready to call someone to help. When we checked out, the woman behind the counter told us that she was unable to print out a receipt for us. This has never happened to us at a hotel before. Other than these events, the stay was quiet and pleasant. We always stay at the Hilton because it's the best and we are okay paying a little more for that. This stay just didn't rise to the standard we are used to from this facility.

Swimming pool. It looked dirty

There were roaches in my kitchenette, staff didn't seem too concerned or shocked but did send someone to spray. The pool was locked half of my stay, with the water being cloudy and gross the entire time-if you're looking to use the pool, choose another property. Housekeeping staff ignored my request and was in my room after I specifically asked for NO service during my stay. Finally, the cancellation policy is crazy- it's WEEKS before check-in, not like most other properties with dates ranging from 1-3 days prior. I will definitely not stay at this place again.

The staff at Homewood Suites is awesome.

The water was extremely hot to shower. We told them. Maintenance went to the room twice. 2nd time he said to give it a few mins for the cold water to work, but if it didnt to just let it run. We did let it run, but it just kept getting hotter. We did not tell them again, because the guy was annoyed.

Staff/check-in was excellent. Our room would not cool down and the beds/pillows were very uncomfortable. Most of us didn’t get much sleep and were up moving around all night trying to get comfortable.

First time we have stayed at this hotel but definitely coming back when visiting the 956!!! Everything was great and staff was friendly.

Excellent location

We rented two rooms. Very nice property. Convenient location. However, the shower in one of the rooms did not work and the other room had no towels. Staff was friendly but did not resolve the issues nor offered any assistance other than "we will report the issue." We ended up having to use the one shower that did work and obtained towels from the gym/pool area.

Quiet area, clean rooms, comfortable beds, good breakfast

The gal that checked us in was outstanding and super accommodating. There is no pool towels at all so be prepared to use bath towels. Otherwise a super accommodating hotel and great breakfast!

Our accommodations were excellent. The pool furniture was in poor shape, but everything else was great!

Our room never got cleaned for four days the shower drain was sitting off to the side a definite safety hazard the residents above us had small girls that jumped off of the bed all night and constantly woke us up screaming. Unfortunately for this Hilton I work for an airline and I already called our Ops department and told them to take this Hilton off of the crew list. In closing I would like to say the toilet paper is like wiping with sand paper. 700 dollar stay for this craptastic hotel.
