Candlewood Suites Harrisburg - Hershey by IHG

Our room had a great kitchenette. We were able to heat up food and not waste anything. The TV did not work properly in our bedroom and the microwave was not plugged in so we had to climb the counter to plug it in. Understood that the pool was closed but it should have been covered up because the water was brown, full of cigarette butts and a dirty diaper. Otherwise, it was a good location and not far to our destination.

Staff was not good except one lady work at night shift

Very good location. 2 of the 3 staff I encountered were friendly. Didn’t give much information on the amenities though. Rusted shower head, dirty towels, rude female staff-would not give me clean towels upon request, told me I’d have to wait until 10 or 11pm for clean towels-no housekeeping for short stays. Patrons above me running rampant all night(til about 3am) No curtains for privacy(window curtain was on the floor in the room upon our arrival). Cupboard didn’t have many options for food, no milk whatsoever for the cereal/oatmeal provided for purchase. This really felt like a hole in the wall hotel that is extremely overpriced.

Room definitely needed some TLC as you can tell animals have been there. Furniture was stained and ripped, scratches all of the cupboards, beds, and walls. Staff were professional and friendly. Hotel to me was too expensive for what I got, but that appears to be a thing in PA. Outlets in the room did not work, could not turn the TV from the beds because the boxes were placed behind the TV(TV was too big for the setup they had). Lots of stomping and banging from the rooms on the above floors majority of the day and night which was VERY disruptive and aggravating. Elevator only worked 1 way. If you were on the first floor you could go up, but any floors after that you had to call someone from the first floor to send it up if you had someone with you because there were no phones in the room to call the front desk.

Very old and dirty. While in shower, the water does not drain fast, so you’re standing in water past your ankles trying to rush so that you can get out the shower quickly.

The toilet in our room was plugged up starting the morning after we arrived! It overflowed several times, had to plunge it ourselves. It was never fixed and they finally moved us to a room with a functioning toilet after 32 hours and our constant request

The location was perfect for me. The bed was very comfortable, and the kitchen was an added bonus. However, I finished my job early so checked out a day early. I was not very happy that the pool and hot tub were closed. And it has been closed for a while. And that was one of the main amenities I was looks forward to using. Very disappointed.

Housekeeping went inside the room when at work and went through our belongings. Some items missing including loose change and was not returned.

Dirty room looks like nothing was wiped down. Way overpriced

So it stated that there would be free breakfast, they were supposed to be a pool. There were supposed to be a lot of good amenities that should have been easy to use but there was none. The only free thing was coffee. My room's microwave didn't work. My room's dishwasher didn't work. They did have a nice clean laundry facility though but if you're looking for decent service I'd suggest the holiday inn express instead

There were a couple of problems at at this property site, 1. Not enough wash cloths,towels ,and toilet paper in our room, plus I asked for a king size bed and got two queen size bed. 2. I had to complain to the front desk about the guest on the top floor above us making too much noise after hours while we were trying to sleep.

My reservation was confirmed. Hotel was sold out no rooms available. We drove out of our way to this hotel. Only to be turned away by the front desk. I don't know who was at fault. I had a confirmed reservation, the hotel claims that booking.com was at fault, hotel was booked full for a long while, booking.com should have never made the reservation

We had a full sized refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker, and the rooms are a lot roomier than most basic hotel rooms.

This hotel has some maintenance issues to work on. The hinges on our bathroom doors were not attached to the door (the holes were stripped). Pop-up drain plug was missing . . . replaced with a old-fashioned rubber drain plug style stopper.
