There could be more elevators

Disappointing to book this hotel with a pool for our 2 kids to arrive at 7:38 to find out pool closed at 8pm after travelling in +37 degree weather. As a frequent traveller this is the earliest I have encountered and wouldn't have booked here if this was identified anywhere. The previous hotels we had stayed at on this trip, the pools closed at either 10 or midnight.

I was not able to stay the hotel refused me cause I live within 22 miles I need a refund

The breakfast downstairs was busy, the selections were perfect for starting the day without having to eat somewhere else, I will definitely return in the future!

We booked our reservation here on Expedia because we lost power for a few days from a storm and it’s 100 degrees outside. When we arrived at the hotel, the front desk was turning away anyone who lived within a 30 mile radius, including myself. I was told that it didn’t matter even if there are available rooms and even if I paid already. I don’t know how they can do that! I watched them turn away multiple elderly couples for the exact same reason! This hotel is the WORST!!! DO NOT BOOK!!!

Clean room and friendly staff

The staff was amazing. Everyone was very nice and pleasant. The rooms were clean and comfortable. However the lobby, elevator area were very dated. The telephone in the room didn't work. The place definitely needs updating. But just for a comfortable sleep it's good. I didn't have the breakfast so cannot commit on that.

My instincts told me to leave, but I asked about early check-in. The front desk supervisor was rude and completely unaccommodating. She refused early check-in, wouldn't take my info to call when a room was ready, and even denied us access to the pool while we waited. She flatly told us to come back at 3:00 PM. In ten years of traveling, I’ve never been denied a "soft check-in" or facility use like this. It felt like management actively prohibits staff from helping guests. We left to kill time and returned at 3:15 PM. The lobby was packed with frustrated guests being told their rooms still weren't ready. A new staff member was overwhelmed, trying to put out fires alone. It was completely unacceptable. Expedia tried to help us transfer to another IHG property, but they couldn't even get a manager from this hotel on the phone. We eventually gave up and switched to a nearby IHG Avid Hotel, which gladly took our business and their staff was amazing and immediately took care of us. As for Holiday Inn Express in Union, this place is run like a grift. I feel bad for the staff if their hands are tied by management, but the front desk team desperately needs customer service retraining.

The night clerk (Charles I think) had a huge line and less than patient customers, yet he gave he customer the attention and care they deserved. It was a great stay.

We got there, and there was a 50 dollar hold for a cleaning fee? Nothing specified that on the booking page. If we had refused, we would have lost out on our room depost. Definitely don't recommend unless you have extra money aside to spend on bulllshit fees they throw at you

Don't waste your money here!!! The place is run down, dirty. Front desk guy was absolutely arrogant and rude. The pictures online don't reflect the current state of the property.

Bed was comfortable, staff was awesome. Room was well equipped.

Needed a room just before midnight. Booked through expedia, great price. Room was clean, everything was where it was supposed to be. If you need a basic hotel room to sleep for the night and shower in the morning, this will do it. Met my expectations. Free breakfast and coffee before hitting the road again was a nice touch. 10/10

It was clean and good location.

Place dirty. Floors in dining area dirty…. chairs in dining room old needs to be updated. room key never worked. Had to go downstairs multiple times to have be able to get into the room.

They canceled my reservation without any notice. I arrived at 8:30pm with an exhausted child and they said they had just cancelled our room for no particular reason. Very angry!!
