Comfort Suites Hattiesburg near University

Located right off the highway We had a king bed with a fold out sofa on the 3rd floor. The fold out couch was disgusting to say the least. Mold, hair, food, dirt, etc. was all over the sheets inside the couch. There was a dirty cup & what appeared to be a mouse trap visible under the fold out mattress. When I told the front desk host about it, she questioned me as to whether we had used the room (we’d only been in the room for 30 minutes at this point), whether I told someone right after we checked in, and acted like I was being unreasonable. She then told me that they don’t always have time to clean the couches because the rooms would never be ready in time if they did that. That’s like going to a restaurant and the waitress telling you they didn’t have time to wash the dishes before they put your food on it. Ridiculous excuse. She sarcastically said she couldn’t help that there was “a cup under the couch.” as if that was the most alarming detail. She offered to clean the room or move us. So I opted to be moved. The second room was no better. When I folded out the couch in room #2, there were no sheets on the mattress and the mattress was covered in rust stains. So I was going to have to ask for sheets for that bed so my kids could sleep on it. At that point I decided it wasn’t worth $160 to stay at this hotel. If offered a 3rd room, it would likely be just as nasty. And the front desk host clearly didn’t see an issue with the way the rooms are kept. I checked my family out and paid for a different hotel so my kids would have a clean place to sleep. Overall I am really shocked by the lack of care by the host. If I was making things up or exaggerating I would understand. See the pictures for yourself.

Breakfast was ok. No extra linens were in the room. Asked for more pillows and blankets at the desk for pull out sofa and was given 1 pillow. I asked for two more and she said flatly there plenty on the bed. Well I have a two year old I needed to keep from falling off onto the tile floor… I can’t crate a barrier and have pillows left for everyone else. I didn’t see tile in the photos of the rooms. Wouldn’t have chosen tile floors with babies. Shower floor looked like paint or something was poured in tub and peeling off. Walls were dirty and looked like botched repair work. Rooms reeked of cleaning materials and in some spots greasy/slick. I stayed at best western across the way passing through earlier in the week, would definitely choose them over this.
