Wingate by Wyndham Hattiesburg

It wasn’t horrible but it definitely wasn’t like the picture. It was run down and the door to our hotel room didn’t even lock. We used things to block the door. The knobs in the rr were falling off. The shower was spraying super hard and tile wasn’t even properly installed from the floor to the tub. The shower lining of the tub to the ceiling where it connects, had mold. The beds were comfortable and the food was good. The beds seemed very clean. The building itself is chipped paint and scratches all over like it’s not well kept. But all in all, it was okay.

Staff was nice and the breakfast was good and beds were clean. My only complaint is there was mold and mildew bad in the bathroom on the ceiling and on the black out blinds on the window had mold and mildew bad.

Definitely needs improvement. Stairwell is filthy. Old amenities.

When I arrived to the hotel my key card did not work for the room. When I got the key card fixed the door would not open as it was locked from the inside so I was moved to a different room. When I walked into that room it smelled of mildew and the blinds had mold on them and when I went to take a picture of the mold my sock got soaked as the carpet was soaking wet due to a crack in the window and the window being double paned was halfway filled up with water. I was moved to my third and final room which had no towels so we went back down to the lobby for the fourth time and the front staff lady was very helpful. She was very overwhelmed. The phone in the room did not dial to the front desk. It would just continue to ring my daughter's bed smelled of perfume as if someone had laid in it, but overall the bed was clean. The carpet next to the bed had a bunched up aluminum foil as if someone had eaten a burrito and thrown their trash on the floor. The breakfast was pretty good. The orange juice machine did not work. Right there was a possible substance on the wall and lamp that looked to be either rust or blood but could not be determined and the pool was unable to be used due to it being so green you couldn't even see the steps leading down into the pool. I would never stay here again. I should have just paid the extra $50 and stayed at the hotel across the street

I was absolutely terrible!! I will not be booking another room with them no matter where the hotel is!!! The hotel it self was disgusting room horrible the pool was awful staff wasn’t helpful at all!!!

EVERYTHING WAS GREAT FROM THE STAFF TO THE NICE & CLEAN ROOM EXCEPT THE TEMPERATURE OF THE WATER IN THE SHOWER. THE WATER BARELY GOT HOT…

I read some reviews before selecting this hotel and they were very good. But this place is not clean : front desk very nice lady took us in but no bars of soap, stairs carpet needs to be ripped out, never seen carpet so putrid. Basically all common area is filthy. The beds and room carpet seemed updated but there was dust hanging on the ceiling : room just didn’t feel clean. Saw matrons taking a smoke break talking in front entrance for an hour first thing in their shift : maybe they should be working. Extremely disappointed in way these reviews are so false. Not falling for this again. Absolutely no responsibility from management to do the minimum.

It was a good value. The breakfast was very goid

The elevator and 3rd floor had an unpleasant odor. The room hadn’t been vacuumed and the bathtub did not appear to have been scrubbed and clean. So much so that none of us felt comfortable showering. The room had dings on the wall and old worn furniture. Luckily, we were only passing through for one night.

It was a short stay but everything was very good

Ok. Housekeeping need to clean more. The floors in the front desk area were not clean. The elevator was not clean. The carpet in the hallway were the rooms are were VERY FILTHY. The hallway did not have working AC. It was EXTREMELY HOT. The exterior ground parking was EXTREMELY SATURATED with water which seem to have a leak. A Hugh hole was in the ground near where I had to park.

It was a pretty dirty hotel, it felt like every surface had a layer of grunge on it. The room was beaten up and in a state of disrepair. Missing outlet covers, patched drywall visible, cracked laminate on furniture, dirt or mold on chairs, elevator that you didn't quite trust, and staff didn't program keys correctly first time. On a positive note though they quickly fixed the issue with the keys and the elevator got us to our floor.

The mirrors were broken, white stuff on the comforter! The floors were filthy and the beds looked like they were slept in! The sink was dirty! We asked for a refund and we left!! Front desk gentleman was nice and even looked at the room himself and said it smells and he wouldn’t stay there himself!

The room was very clean. The bed and pillows were comfortable.

I took my kids to the pool, and the water was green. When I went back to the front desk to ask about it, I was told it was because of the rain. That's simply not an acceptable explanation. I worked in pool maintenance for two years, and a properly maintained pool should not turn green from rain. To make matters worse, the pool at the hotel next door was crystal clear and blue. The problems didn't stop there. The bathtub had holes in it, the bathroom walls had holes and visible damage, and there was rust throughout the room. Overall, the property felt neglected and poorly maintained. I would not stay here again and would not recommend this hotel to anyone, especially families with children. The breakfast area and entrance that look like it was brand new.
