Hampton Inn Heath-Newark

I would have gave it an excellent if the pool wasn't closed on the hottest day of the year. We were coming from a race at National trails and just wanted to jump into a cool pool, with the temp well into the 90's, before bed. If I would of know the this I would of booked a different hotel. The plus's...room was clean, quiet and cool. The beds and pillows were super soft. Slept like a baby. Did not hear any noise from inside or outside the hotel. The breakfast in the morning was nice. We had slice kielbasa with fried potatoes and an omelet. Yogurt, fresh fruit, and juice. My son had cereal and a banana. They also had make your own waffles and oatmeal, plus muffins and a toaster for bread. They have the best coffee too and cookies for late evening snack. If the pool is fixed, I would stay here again next time.

The location was good and it was a good breakfast. The staff that I encountered were all friendly and accommodating when it was possible. I was on the 3rd floor and the roof mounted air unit was load and constant. Also shower gel dispenser in my room was bone dry the first night/morning. The rooms have an acrid smell. I suspect it’s the air freshener but it has a very sharp chemical smell.

Property was very clean, close to restaurants and shopping. Great location.

Very friendly staff. We were on motorcycles so they let us park under the awning to keep bikes out of the rain. Would highly recommend this stay for anyone traveling through.

Friendly staff Breakfast was not the best

When it was our turn, she was gracious and so efficient! The breakfast had a really great assortment and we appreciated the friendly breakfast staff.

Really great property and nice staff! Rooms were clean and a bit more updated than other Hamptons I've stayed at! The location is super convenient, too. Next to a Kroger, across from a Starbucks, Walmart and tons of food options. Highly recommend!

Staff was always helpful and friendly.

Pool was disgustingly, needs to be emptied & scrubbed. Noisy. Shower needs heavy duty cleaning, not maid’s fault. Entire hotel needs deep cleaning if you’re going to charge $199 for basic room. Very disappointed for the price point.

Great location and great amenities Everything was great!

Great night away from home. Kids loved the pool. I love the pool is Salt Water instead of Chlorine.

Our room had a terrible smell. I told the desk person and she said they had one room left and it was a higher price. She wasn’t trying to fix it. I didn’t push it, but it was so disturbing to smell that gross odor. I was afraid I smelled like it. A simple fix was to change our room.

Staff was nice and extra friendly. Pool had maintenance the last day there.
