Lantern Inn

Great location, room and service. Quaint little room that we would definitely stay here again. Very convenient to a lot of the sights.

Very good location for enjoying the Black Hills and very nice staff overall. I would recommend it and be happy to stay there again!

I was a solo traveler. The Inn was perfectly located. Staff were friendly and helpful. Amenities weren’t abundant, but enough for my needs. Parking was easy

For whatever reason the Lantern Inn had us getting there a day before our scheduled date so they had us down as a “No Show”. They said that they had had some issues with third party reservations and couldn’t call us. Anyway, when we arrived, it was confusing but they were amazing and made sure we were accommodated and made sure everything was good. It is such a friendly, nice place and, I never did catch her name, but the manager was soooo nice and soooo helpful. Great place.

Friendly hostess to meet us! Digital door key system was very simple and it was nice not to have to mess with a key! We left super early the next morning to start at Rushmore, so it was handy not to worry over returning key cards at the office. It seems like the rooms were recently renovated, and had thoughtful amenities- very appreciated! Nice location too... Easy to access along the main route. Lots of shops and restaurants within walking distance.

It was nice for our time in Hill City. Adequate but not excellent.

The place is very conveniently located. It’s a small family run place , and it was very clean. The staff was helpful. They had a nice spot to park our motorcycle trailer.

Nice, large room. Very friendly staff. Location excellent, close from the center, big grocery store across the street. Parking spaces. Nice tiny outdoor pool with fresh-cold water to cool down.

I go by the reviews on a place, but the reviews on this place were very wrong, place smelled, floors had soft spots, thought the bed was going to fall when I sit on it, towels smelled like they wasn’t clean, bathroom was so small couldn’t move, very old building I been traveling through the west for two weeks this is the only bad accommodations I have had, I would not stay at this place again, ever!

Pool not warm Wifi did not work - signal to weak

We had an amazing stay here. We stayed for 4 nights. We visited all of the sites in the area. Room was super cute. A bit small for a family of 4 with 4 big suitcases. Staff are super friendly. We would go in the office often to talk with them. Coffee was available in the office every morning.There are benches outside the rooms. We would sit out for at least an hour every night after dinner. Walkable to downtown and restaurants. We would definitely come back here. Being in this little town made us all want to move to this part of South Dakota.

Excellent room. Very clean. Modern, renovated bathroom. Large refrigerator/freezer for a hotel room. Must bring all your luggage up on the stairs. Not accessible if you are unable to do that for an upstairs room. AC very noisy.

The room was clean. The staff was helpful with places to eat, coffee shops & things to do!!
