Staff was supper friendly, area much nicer than the rapid city vibe.

The hotel room was nice, and we had a great check in experience. Unfortunately, our shower had no hot water and sprayed water out of the top of the shower head. We told the property owners when we checked out, and they said they’d fix it. We’d stay here again!

I loved my stay at the Lantern! The staff was so friendly, and the room was cozy and clean. As a solo female traveler, this was the perfect place to stay.

I cannot say enough good things about this place. We were very comfortable, felt welcomed, and enjoyed our stay here. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. Our room was basic, but very clean. I would definitely stay here again!

We stayed at Lantern Inn for 3 days in June. We were greeted by super friendly staff when we pulled in. They kindly recommended a place for dinner. The room was very clean and nicely decorated. The location in Hill City was great for all the parks and activities. We will definitely stay here again when we are in the area.

This is a small, privately owned hotel. The location is perfect for access to all the Black Hills parks. The rooms are small, but newly renovated and very clean. Parking is great. The property also offers a small swimming pool. The staff are warm and welcoming. Two thumbs up!👍👍

Cute motel in a great location! Most attractions and hikes that interested us were within 30 minutes. Pool was too cold but should warm throughout summer. We spent 6 nights and wished we had a better room. Our window was small and blocked by a stairwell making it very dark and no view. Also, as people began to check in for the evening the steps were very noisy as they went back and forth unloading vehicles. I would stay here again but pay better attention to room selection. I want to have some natural sunlight and a window to look outside. If you don’t want to hear traffic this is not the location for you. It is right on the main road and traffic flow was really consistent all day.
