Holiday Inn Express Hilton Head Island by IHG

This property was farther from the beach than expected. The rooms were clean and obviously redone, but rather tight quarters. Not a lot of room between the bed and the dresser area. Breakfast was OK but nothing special. However, the breakfast room was very bright and airy looking.

There was no hot water for the shower yesterday. The bathroom door would not close all the way. After a very hot day they only had hot coffee to drink in the lobby instead instead of a pitcher of cool ice water.

The hotel was very convenient. The breakfast was substantial. The staff was very helpful. Overall clean. The AC was a bit noisy and leaked water on the balcony. The hotel is a bit old.

Good breakfast , great new fresh grind coffee machine. Confusion on the pet policy. Nothing online that indicated a room size restriction. booked a double queen plus pull out bed for 6 people. Arrived, asked if we had pets which we did, checked in, got the keys, went to room and it had just two queens. Went back to desk and he said nothing else was available because we had pets!!! He did find a room we could fit in but while we were waiting in the original room, he gave the keys to a new group who walked in on my wife and kids!!! They have a first floor only for pets. It doesn't say that on booking. Com. Just that it's a pet friendly hotel. It just wasn't obviously clear at the point of booking. Also didn't realize there was a pet fee. Would have left the two small dogs at home. Also, the tub drained poorly. Standing in water whole time. Plus no exhaust fan in there so it got soon steamy, hard to dry off enough to get dressed. We are not happy.

My wife and I enjoyed the breakfast and pool area. We were able to meet fellow guests of the hotel and engage in conversations. The parking was very limited due to it being a holiday weekend.

The bed was decent. The promixty to the beach. The staff was nice. The water in the bathtub and sink wouldn't go down. The air conditioning had mold and dust. The room had a slight odor. Paid for parking without any room to park. Very crowded and noisy in the hallway at night.

Had a great time spending my 50th Birthday in HHI.

Liked the location and it was very clean. We were charged for parking and 55 dollars a night for a pet

Breakfast

The main thing I didn't like was that the room was small for 2 people. It was clean so no issues there, it was just to small. Oh, and no good channels on the TV so very early to bed it was. Pool area was nice but the water was quite warm, but so was the weather. I think our next visit to HHI we will rent a condo.

Great location within easy walk of Coligny Beach and all its facilities. Room was generous size with plenty of storage space. Lots of accessible electric sockets

The park behind the hotel In the Buffet you should have signs near meat and omelette to know what does it have like you have to ask is this turkey or pork sausage

Exceptional

It was very quiet. Staff were nice. Bring back the waffle maker!

Had to be moved three times upon arrival. First room the balcony didn’t open and there was a crew working outside on the building so you could hear everything. The second room was even worse as the noise was even louder. The crew was right outside the door. We finally moved to a different room on the third level you could no longer hear the noise but there was a funny smell they were trying to cover up. Which actually was throughout the building. I was also constantly being bitten by mosquitoes because there is no wall surrounding the building floors it’s all open. So as soon as you open your door to leave your room they would follow you in. With that being said each floor was also extremely warm because of this. The pictures posted of each room are not true. Everything is dated and the bath tub in the room I was constantly afraid of falling through the floor if I stepped in the wrong spot. Honestly, the only thing that was decent about this place was the price and its location is a block away from Coligny Beach. I should have known better and looked around.
