La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Birmingham Homewood

This is definitely NOT a 3 star hotel. Staff was somewhat rude to customers. Breakfast was poor

Very clean room and the staff was very professional

Good location and proximity to restaurants. The property could use some updates. Rooms were good. Common areas had a lot of noise around 3:00a as if there was a party happening on the first floor.

We were checking in right at 3 PM and I asked if the pool was good to swim in. The front desk attendant assured me that it was ready to be swam in. We immediately went up to our room and changed. We stopped at the front desk to ask for pool towels and were told by a different person that the pool was closed for two hours due to chemicals having just been added. We obviously were not happy about that but not as upset as our children. Bathroom: No toilet paper stocked and only two towels with a family for four. Asked for trash bags at front desk and attendant handed me ice bucket bags. Bedroom: Sofa bed sheets were crumpled up and thrown into the closet, plus the sofa bed mattress pad was stained and dirty. I-65 traffic noise was noticeable and room was not dark enough for wife. Breakfast: Spoiled milk in pitcher, eggs/sausage were not filled but empty, lack of attention to breakfast buffet. Needless to say we were ready to leave after breakfast. Find another place to stay!

Very good hotel for the price! Quiet, smooth experience. Breakfast selection smallish but tasty eggs. :)

AC did not seem to work really well. Otherwise it was a good visit.

Avoid avoid avoid if you can. Dirty, loud, confusing customer service. My sheets were wet and the room had hair all over the floor like it hadn’t been cleaned. I didn’t feel safe and eventually left early. Never again.

Was there for doctors appt. Loved it and will use it from now on

The entire establishment smelled like incense. Our room did not have enough towels, the shower backed up to our ankles and was filthy upon arrival. The pool that was advertised was locked. One elevator did not work. I could go on and on.

Property could use some upgrades. There is a lingering smell in the hallways and it’s very off putting. My room required to be cleaned again once I checked in and I was told I would forfeit my next scheduled cleaning (stains on bedding and hair around the room). I probably would not return to a Laquinta.

Very disappointing as hallways and hotel had a smell so strong it made us very sick just walking in hallways. Stairwells were beyond nasty with stains and dirt. Walls of rooms are thin and you can hear so much outside of the rooms.

Towels had blood on them, multiple spots, like blood from a lady's period..... very disgusting. We tossed them to the side....

The one elevator that works has peeling metal stickers that are falling off of the walls. This hotel is in DESPERATE need of a remodel and new management! Unless that happens - DO NOT STAY AT LA QUINTA!!!

Quite honestly was one of the most disgusting hotel rooms we’ve ever stayed in. The bedding and towels appeared to be fresh and clean but that is the only positive. The room and bathroom absolutely reeked. We had to go to Walmart to buy an air freshener spray just to get through the night. The floors were dirty, the shower was absolutely disgusting and there were mysterious substances on the bathroom walls. The toilet seat was very loose. The lobby and breakfast area was neat and clean so I’m not sure what was up with the nasty room. I would never stay here again.

Only one working elevator, breakfast was very chaotic and overcrowded in one small space, bathroom was not clean in our room.
