Castle Bamboo Waikīkī Hotel

It's located just 2.5 blocks from the beach, the parking is very limited...$40/day in a very tight small garage with pipes on low ceiling. Damaged the top of our jeep rental on pipes. Standing water in garage that u had to walk thru, smelled like sewage the entire time. Had a pull out couch bed with no linens, asked for a blanket for it and they said they could not do that. They tried to give me a sheet, when I said that was unacceptable, they brought me a comforter from their lost and found! The bldg is older, decor is old and stained (couch) Bathroom garbage can was dirty, white plaster on walls, lots of hair and dust under the TV stand, internet did not work half the time. We asked for Xtra cream/sugar for coffee, they said they couldn't do that. I would not stay here again.

Location Allocated room on arrival 503 was smelt musty and damp, conwebs in the corner of room, outdoor furniture broken with rotting torn squabs, old rusty shelving in shower. Asked to be changed and the receptionist offered us a choice of two rooms. Room 510 was ok but shower leaked large amounts of water every time it was used. Problems with water not draining from bath quickly and bath would fill with water while showering. Kitchen only had 3 dinner plates and no kettle to make tea. Reception staff where unsmiling unfriendly and not very welcoming apart from one lady who was engaging as you would expect. Price was overly expensive for poor condition of premises compared to what is shown on website pictures. Beach towels where stained holey and threadbare. I would be embarrassed if this was my hotel. Body wash and shampoo bottles were empty on arrival

DO NOT STAY HERE! Upon check in, TOM was very rude and not very friendly. I booked a room for three people. The room was super small and the pull out bed was was a huge safety hazard. We could not get to the door or bathroom without having to jump over the pull out bed. The bed itself was super flat - there was no way anyone could sleep on it without feeling the metal bars. We then had to ask TOM for bed sheets and for extra pillows. Within the first 30 min, we had to go downstairs 3 times to ask for different things for our room. I also noticed I was overcharged and noticed there was mildew on the pillows. One of us ended up sleeping on the couch instead of the pull out because of the condition it was in. We asked to speak to a manager, but we were told she was unavailable. TOM said to ask for CECILIA, the manager, at 6 am the following day. Well, I met CECILIA at 6 am the following day and wish I hadn't. She was even more rude and kept interrupting me when I spoke to her about our issues with checking in, the room itself, being overcharged, and the blanket situation. She did not offer any help and did not take accountability for any of the issues we experienced. CECILIA was just as bad as TOM, maybe even worse because she had a duty as a manager. She did not fulfill that duty in my opinion. She spoke over me, did not address any of the issues, kept saying there were no refunds because we were just now speaking to her (after TOM said she was unavailable) and because we check

Everything else was terrible. Be advised...Expedia still calls this a hotel. It is not. The staff informs each unit is individually owned. Ours was spartan to say the least. Wifi was promised but was not available. I complained and the next day Spectrum came through...with 10 megs per second. Don't plan on getting any work done unless your cell plan allows unlimited data in hub\tether. Two cheap pans, 3 knives, 4 spoons and 3 forks. If you will need parking you must reserve ahead. Again, this NOT a hotel. Forwarded is forwarded. Good luck.

Castle Bamboo WIkikik is a beautiful boutique hotel. The restaurant and bar by the pool.staff and shrimp was great. I had it 4 different times times. The bar was out of multiple standard Item. Bloody Mary mix etc. our room 605. No air conditioning at all. 80 -87 degrees out. We melted and sweated. Bugs in kitchen area. We asked for bug repellent. Of course got none. We ask for toilet paper 4 different times never got till we asked next day. They rushed us out of our room. Never said bye thank you. Only get out room is rented hot tub the jets were not working the whole week But it was nice to have a pool. With waterfall food available and some bar drinks. It was nice to save money. Cooking ourselves sometimes

The room had chipped and peeling paint, shower pressure was terrible, the pool was poorly maintained and had algae growing on the fountain fixtures. We definitely will NOT be staying there in the future and will actively warn friends and family to avoid Castle Bamboo.

The rooms were clean and safe. The food by the pool was undesirable and the staff ignored us and talked to each other.

Our room was “clean” but the carpet was gross. The kitchen was filthy. The oven didn’t heat over 350 so we could not use it for making pizzas or other items we purchased. The front two burners didn’t work either. The curtains were broken. The beach items available were broken - the boogie board and chairs were not usable. The parking garage had 6 inches of standing water and the ceiling was so low many cars wouldn’t fit. Our rental van barely had clearance but the front desk didn’t ask before charging $40 a day for parking. One lady at the front desk was quite rude each time we saw her. Would NOT recommend.

Loved the location - easy walking distance to the beach, shops, restaurants and public transport. Our room was comfortable, as was the bed and pillows. Good shower but it was over the bath which may be of concern to people with mobility issues. Kitchenette and fridge were handy, allowing us to purchase food to prepare and eat in our room. The pool area was lovely as was the hot spa! We really liked having a bar/restaurant right next to the pool and had a lovely meal there, plus a few drinks. Loved that there were laundry facilities. Elevators were good and you didn't have to wait too long (we were on the 8th floor) Probably the only thing was the room servicing. It wasn't clear on the booking that the room was only going to be serviced every 7 days (although we may have missed it) They were very good about providing fresh linen when requested, but you first have to take your dirty linen down to reception, then they will deliver the fresh linen some time during the day. There was an issue with communication prior to travel - hotel messaged me, I messaged back - no further communication from the hotel......

Staff was absolutely amazing. Rooms were clean (and smelled clean) when we arrived. AC in the rooms work great - water pressure is a little weak. Don't believe Google - there's no continental breakfast, but the ABC stores are on every corner and offer a wide variety of foods.
