Awesome place

Nice quiet spot right on the beach super warm and cozy

Really the biggest reason i marked the review so low is because there is no parking, you have to walk 5 blocks to get to their parking area and they charge you the same rate as if you were to park at the hotel itself. Also the AC in the room barely worked, it was set to 64 in high cold mode and we sweated all night long and had very little sleep. It’s very noisy outside all hours of the night, so sleeping is barely even an option. Its in a good location and the staff was friendly and they had a little live music which was nice. But when i picture a hotel in waikiki i wasn't expecting such a run down difficult to be in hotel. I would suggest staying at a hotel with parking at the location because staying here ultimately costs you the same, but forces you to walk 5 blocks anytime you need your car which sucks when you have heavy bags and luggage.

The carpet is very old and didn’t seem clean. There was coffee maker but hotel did not provide coffee. The most unbearable thing was the street noise. I stayed for 8 nights and for about 5-6 nights, every day around 4:30-5:00am, there were loud noises from trucks just outside my room. Feels like dumpsters in operation and it would last for about 20 minutes. The window glasses are in multiple panes stacked together and it would not isolate noise outside. In general the hotel rooms need to be completely renovated.

It was great!

I have never written a bad review for anything, and we travel a lot. But please stay away from this place if at all possible. I’ve never stayed at any place that is so noisy and so behind in everything! There are hardly any outlets. There is nothing in the kitchen. The building is probably 1000 years old with no upgrade. It When I told them I don’t want to stay for the second night, Expedia was contacted and I was told if I checked out before noon next day, I’ll get refund. Now Expedia is telling me refund was denied after multiple request!

This hotel is average, clean and convenient but older, need upgrade. The staff were friendly, when they're around. Sometimes too long a wait for fromt desk. Overall good, just need upgrade.

Perfect

Great simple place to stay steps away from Waikiki beach. Me and my kids loved it for our overnight trip. Food trucks across the street were yummy and very easy to get around.

Honestly went into this hotel somewhat clueless. Staff was friendly helped with all my questions. Only problem was the bug situation… first night was good, second night came around, snd me and my partner found roaches in our bedroom mind you we are on the second floor. Wouldn’t recommend this spot to anyone only because of the bug situation. It’s really close to the beach which is nice but they gotta do something about them bugs honestly. Air conditioning worked phenomenally only if they put more time into getting all them bugs out. Trust me on this one.

Laundry is easy to use

This is a hotel that is vintage and has history. It is clean, with incredibly helpful staff. Wednesday evening is hula dancing and live music from local musicians. The ocean is a block or so away and is in walking distance to the International Market. Plenty of local food and easy access to everything. Mahalo for the hospitality, Royal Grove!

Our room was quite small but very clean, the bathroom had very old taps but worked fine. There was no blanket only a set of sheets but truthfully it was fine. The AC was very good, we arrived early as we arrived by cruise ship but they kept our luggage for us as we explored plus we could and did use the pool and washroom until we got our room at 2:30. Just off the lobby they had a very cold water bottle filler, super nice to have. As everyone has said perfect location and the cheese cake factory about a 10 minute walk away. The only drawback I felt should be addressed is the mattress was quite weak on the edge so you can roll out and I almost did lol. We Definatley would come back to this hotel as the price was good and the staff very freindly.

It is a very dangerous place that Expedia promotes for people to stay, there were actually people doing drugs right outside the door and the room itself is easily accessible to anyone

The staff was uninformative and didn’t provide any assistance. I spent my money and was told that I couldn’t get a refund.
