Aloft by Marriott Houston Downtown

The rooftop bar and pool are useless. The “pool” is very small, there is no shade or misters on the patio and the bar was not very well stocked. Also, the bathrooms are dangerously hot. The restaurant was closed, and the lobby bar was only open on Saturday night. We selected this hotel specifically for the amenities so it was a complete waste of money.

My first room, the door didn’t lock, and there was food in the refrigerator. So I requested a new room where the door locked, but the light above the sink didn’t work and I needed to do my makeup by flashlight. The room didn’t have a rack to uphold luggage so I had to use the ironing board. The room was big, but there was so much empty space that should’ve had more table to be properly utilized. The staff themselves were fantastic, helpful, and quite accommodating with all my needs from the issues with the room.

Was going thru renovations but wasn't super messy, everything was good except the toilet would make noise like it was filling itself up with water throughout the night. Outside of that, pretty good!

We chose this hotel due to the pool area and added an extra night so we could have a chilled day by the pool after a busy weekend. At check in we were notified the pool and rooftop bar were closed for renovations! Nothing about this was shown on the web page for the hotel.

not my favorite, location is good, but no necessary the best, no parking available at the same building, and spaces in general are very small/tight at lobby, cafeteria, etc, room was perfect anyways.

Great location downtown close to everything The place is really run down and in poor repair. One of the elevators was broken. Our air conditioning didn't work. The bathroom had rotted walls. The window was so dirty you could barley see outside. Everything in the whole place was in some sort of disrepair.

I was charged twice for a one night stay. I tried to resolve with the property and also by contacting customer support at hotels.com at different times but my requests were ignored. The property was not the cleanest and the pool could had used a bit more attention. First and last time staying.
