Wyndham Independence

This hotel has several security risk the parking lot is not well lit. There was an issue with getting towels. I as the customer had to put up my own shower curtain, the room wall had a hole in the wall. Only one light in the bathroom worked, the stand up lamp in the room didn’t work. The room had an odor. I have all the photos and videos of the room that was assigned to me.

The staff was nice. The room smelled of cigarette smoke, even though it was a non smoking property. The smell was in the carpet and drapes. The swimming pool was out of service. The entire property was decapitated. It was grossly dirty. Never again will I stay there.

First I was given a key to another room which was occupied...then the carpets especially the elevators were very dirty...door dead bolt lock didn't work...had a bad power strip in my room the refrigerator didn't work...the hotel is a poor representative of Wyndham.

The room and elevators were disgusting. The pool was closed the entire duration of the stay which it did not disclose at the time of booking. Very dissatisfied.

The parking lot was overgrown. The elevator was grinding itself to dust. There were literally metal shaving on the floor by the doors. There was what appeared to be blood stains on the floor in our room (room 435). The blackout curtains didn't close all the way. The closet door would not open. There were very few channels on the television. The bathtub was squishy, for the lack of a better term. It's something that you can only understand if you experience it. The AC made a awful noise. Someone on our floor was playing very loud, God awful music until late. I will definitely never stay there again. For the price, I was sorely disappointed.

The GM at this property is working hard to improve the overall stay and the hotel. It's not a bad hotel, it has potential in a few years. If you aren't super picky the hotel is ok but I think it will be better to stay here in a couple years.

Facility was dirty and smelly. No security to speak off. Anyone could walk in the back door. The sign said keycard was required but that was not the case. Phones, power banks were unplugged. Rooms were not clean. We switched rooms twice and never did housekeeping come and give us clean towels or make the beds. Would not recommend.

Very dated. Hallways smelled like weed. No towels, they claimed they had no clean ones. Someone finally brought us two. Front desk was very disorganized during check in. The breakfast buffet was very good, though.

I will never stay here or recommend this place to another

This was one of the filthiest places I e ever stayed. Trash all over the outdoor area, inside the walls were dirty, carpeting so gross, for 3 days trash was overflowing out of the trash cans, there was piles of laundry and garbage outside rooms for multiple days, not enough towels no wash clothes, room overall ok but def out of date and shower had mold spots on curtain, and the ceiling was pealing, and the pool was closed and not advertised and no explanation as to why closed…

The room we were given had 1 set of towels for 3 guests. I tried to call the hotel 4 times while we were away from the hotel, they never answer the phone. Booked here because they had a pool....it was CLOSED...The amount of people that smoke pot inside and in the elevators are RIDICULOUS!!!! Not mention right outside of exits so you have to walk right through it and cigarette smoke. Booked through Expedia they charged my card and I paid the 100.00 deposit on another card at the hotel and the hotel charged that card for the room as well so I paid double the price of a room that I was quoted!!! Expedia took the room price out and so did the hotel 2 different cards...

Went to front desk for soap, shampoo, and coffee. They were only able to give us one washcloth.

We rented 2 rooms. Both were not cleaned well one had spilled red liquid in the fridge and the other had trash and dirty towels still in it and we had to be changed to new rooms. One of those was also dirty and had water damage from a leaking roof plus yellow stained sheets and the other had food still in the refrigerator. We got another new room and it also wasn’t very clean. We had a total of 5 rooms and none were clean. The pool was closed and we were lied to about how long it would be closed. We chose to leave. We were told we would be refunded but no one would answer the phone to process the refund so we had to drive back to the hotel to make sure they would answer the phone when Expedia called. The staff were very rude about having to process a refund. We did get refunded eventually but it took 3 days and going back to the hotel to get someone to answer and speak with Expedia. There were holes and water damage in the roof. Dirty bucket collecting water from the ceiling in the kitchen and the elevators had exposed wires around the control panels, would rock and grind while in them and move when you were trying to exit.

Pool was closed for cleaning but other wise had a nice stay
