Holiday Inn Express Indiana by IHG

The good…air conditioner and wifi worked. The bad…bathroom was tiny with the shower and toilet…black mold was visible above the shower due to the small room and improper ventilation. Shower drain was definitely backed up as it didn’t drain properly. The fridge wasn’t on and had no way of being plugged in, it smelled like food had previously spoiled. I had to throw my food away because I couldn’t cool it in the fridge. Microwave wasn’t plugged in either. There was a coffee maker with no cups. The TV turned on but couldn’t get past that as it wasn’t hooked up to cable in anyway. Absolutely NO way of watching anything. Finally, the window was cracked. Thankfully we weren’t on the ground floor but still was odd. No one at check out asked about our stay, I mentioned the mold and shower drain. I later saw I paid $200 for one nine and wanted to talk to the manager. I called the hotel, someone picked up and then hung ups. I called corporate and opened a claim. I am very unhappy with this hotel. I don’t think changing rooms would’ve improved much either.

Exterior and surrounding grounds could use some upkeep. Also bathrooms could use an upgrade.

Shower drain was clogged and water overflowing. No soap in sink soap dispenser. Toilet/shower area extremely tight. Mirror and sink in bedroom area so when turning on light anyone still sleeping is woken up.

Weekends stays often mean the property is full of kids. Ours was no exception with children running the hallways and night and slamming doors. Management should be more conscious of trying to segregate the families away from older single guests or couples as much as possible. Weekends also mean that families invade the breakfast area. Management should prepare for more replenishment during these periods. I stopped by for breakfast at 7:15 AM and all the chafing dishes were completely empty. When I went to the desk and said to the manager (?) "There's no hot food," her response was "Yes there is." Who taught her that this is hospitality? She could at least say that she would check on the situation or call the food attendant to find out when more food would be available (it is open until 10 AM). The hot food was eventually replaced but her answer was disconcerting. Overall, this hotel was adequate for our needs but it was not a good value considering the price I paid.

Room key had to be re-keyed multiple times, room linens were not refreshed and beds were not made. No one informed us of breakfast times.

The person at the desk was not friendly and was rather unhelpful.

The bathroom was to small

Bathroom is a little on the small side but overall a very comfortable and clean room.

Their was no room service

Was given a room that had ONLY hot water and then wanted to change our room to a king bed for 2 men that were NOT a couple. So the best that they could do was give us the key so that we could shower in a separate room than ours. We literally had to wait 10 to 15 minutes just for that water to get partially warm! We paid full price for this room and never did they state that they would give us a discount for inconvenience. Very poor customer service! Would not recommend this hotel.

The air conditioning was noisier than hoped for. Fortunately the weather was cool so I was able to cool the room down by just running the fan on the unit. Otherwise the noise would have been difficult to "deal with".

Check in was slack- had to validate our room key every day then asked for room to be cleaned only to have to beg every day with the lady rolling her eyes at me every time. We were there 4 freaking days honestly! Room was dirty smelt terrible beds were roll out week things!!! Everyday we had to ask for coffee pods it was honestly an absolute disgrace to the Holiday Inn fraternity . Room done after 4 pm it was disgusting! Went on to Pittsburgh feeling fragile after 4 days paying for this appalling service to be welcomed into an amazing hotel. I need to say Pittsburgh you honestly need to up your game. What we experienced was disgraceful.

The room and hotel were clean overall, and the staff was pleasant. The only issues during our stay were that another guest’s door kept slamming shut throughout the night, which was pretty disruptive, and the bathroom caulking looked a bit grimy and could use better cleaning or maintenance. Other than that, the stay was decent.

Check-in was supposed to be at 3pm, we got there at 5pm and our room still wasnt ready! Waited over another hour for it to be cleaned. The bathroom by the pool had poop everywhere 😳 and there is a indoor pool that is "supposed "to be heated, however it felt like a ice bath! Horrible. No towels in there.the hotel manger Ravi Srivastava just sat around playing on his phone all day.

Dry clean and the staff was very helpful; especially the young man who did breakfast

The rooms were comfortable and just what we needed Nothing

Property was very convenient for what I needed Elevator did not align with the floor when the doors opened making it a hazard. The toilet would get stuck after flushing and run for an extended period of time. My room was on the first floor and when ever the floor above would shower or use the bathroom the sound was so loud. The bed frame was broken and made a lot of noise everytime you moved. Stains on the walls by the elevator on the first floor. Breakfast was served at 7 but by 730am nothing was available.

The room I stayed in had a small bathroom. Specifically the toilet was uncomfortable to use because of where the TP holder was placed. This is my only critique because the beds were very comfortable. We loved the fact the room shades can be pulled down to make the room completely dark and this is great for full rest.
