Anvil Hotel

The breakfast, or what they call “breakfast,” is really not a breakfast at all. It’s just a sandwich in a bag. Other than coffee, there are no other drinks available.

Our room had not been stocked for our one-night stay. There was barely a 1/4 of a roll of toilet paper on the roll when we arrived. When that was used up the next morning, we looked and there wasn't an extra roll anywhere in the room. I texted for more in the morning as we were completely out. It took over an hour to get a response. Then, I informed them we would be leaving in an hour. They never showed up. The blackout shade blocked the window AC unit if you pulled it all the way down as it spanned both windows so we had to leave it partially up which allowed the outdoor lights to illuminate our bedroom all night long. There was no water or coffee in the room, which seems pretty standard for any hotel. Breakfast included meant a bagged breakfast burrito and a small yogurt. And finally, we were charged a resort fee with no obvious resort features. This was our fourth hotel in Wyoming during our trip. It was the most expensive but goes with being in Jackson so price wasn't a huge deal. However, it wasn't worth it. Will never stay here again. The restaurant Glorietta was amazing, though.

The location is the best feature like all the hotels in Jackson Water pressure a drizzle. No complementary water in room but you can pay 5$ for a can. No microwave, coffee in room, closet, nor suitcase stand. No dresser just a coffee table against wall in small room. Exceptionally outdated. Complementary breakfast consists of a lunch bag with a container of 4 oz dannon yogurt of random flavor, a roll with egg and either a sausage/pepperoni piece. Not hot , no condiments. Just insulting at that price point. Also, available at front desk with complimentary coffee after 7am long after many travelers have left to view animals. Difficult to assess cleanliness as room with dim lightening and very dark forest green walls. Water pressure so low in shower that I was unable to get soap out of hair. Having travelled all over world this was the worst and insulting at that price.

Not very clean. Dripping faucet. I did not want to take a shower in that shower. Jackson overall is a very expensive place to stay. So it is not unexpected that you would pay a lot of money. But there seems to be very little reinvestment in this property to keep up reasonable standards. Best part was the breakfast sandwich on the way out the door.

The location and staff were great. Our only "challenge" was the no options for breakfast. Someone in my family is a picky eater and only having grab and go sandwiches just didn't work for her. Maybe have an option of like boxed cereal choices for others with similar preferences.

The hotel was average. The rooms were older. We were charged a premium rate for a average hotel. This area caters to people on vacation and the lobby does not even open until 7 and we departed at 6 both days we stayed.

There was a rubber glove from cleaning staff left in our floor after the first day and it stayed the entire time. I spoke to the front desk staff about dietary restrictions on the first day. They got it right 2 days, on the third day, served me something I am highly allergic to. I have text, emailed and called about my invoice several times and still have not received it to know what the extra charge I had was for.

The online version of the Anvil and the reality is totally opposite. The staff tried to make it sound like I had only been the only one complain but while I was there 3 other people had to come in to get towels because they said there weren't any in their room plus another couple had to keep their room door open for the smell to try and air it out. They acted insulted when people were complaining. Our room hadn't been touched since probably 1980 and smelled like it too. Window air conditioners that hadn't been turned on, TV wouldn't work, couch broke down, and I could go on but I'll spare you more details of how dirty it was. We left and didn't even stay the one night we were suppose to. Hope this helps someone not make the same mistake we did and go by the online reviews on their website and try to stay their.

Beautiful property with nice staff and great breakfast. The room was too small. Bathroom countertop was small so no place to put toiletries.

Needs an elevator.

The recent upgrades were evident, free breakfast egg croissant was unexpected and good, coffee in lobby also above average. Staff friendly would for sure staff here again.

The woodwork, decor , parquet floor and brass fixtures give it an old western charm. Free WiFi and nice grab and go breakfast and fresh coffee each morning. Free bear spray to borrow for the asking. The only problem was parking - there are more rooms than there are parking spaces. Overall I would recommend it.

The staff is always helpful, especially Arizona! The room was much smaller than we expected for the price we paid. Daily cleaning was appreciated. The breakfast was fine with my husband, but I didn't eat it and purchased healthier options at the grocery. We didn't have any problems with parking.

Great location

Location was excellent ! Walking distance to all bars, restaurants and shops! Room was spotless At dinner time we tried to take a shower to get ready and there was no hot water. The answer I received at the desk was "You realize this hotel was built in the mid 1900's, you have to understand that we might run out of hot water when everyone is trying to shower at the same time". My response was " It might have been built in the mid 1900's but you are charging me 2026 rates!" Put a bigger hot water heater in.

Close to everything and walkable Shower was the only thing that was modern and was nice Con's Parking Grumpy owner of property next door- don't park there. He will tow you. Rooms are a maze Have to drag your luggage up the outdoor stairs Lobby is in a weird to find location if you park anywhere in the back Bag Breakfast? Grilled onions and a sundried tomato and 1/2 of a sausage link, a fried egg on chibata bread. Nasty. Also had a yogurt and granola bar. Fine. Neighbor had his TV on all night, playing a Hogans Heros marathon. Slept with finger in ear . Could hear house keeping knocking on the doors on the opposite side. Only room with a window air conditioner. So noisy couldn't hear tv. Couldn't sleep with it on. Floors-looked like and felt like cheap peel and stick tiles. Sink wasn't just outside the bathroom, there was a good sized area of wasted space between with shelfs of snacks to purchase, a safe and an ice bucket. It served it's purpose but $500 a night? Definitely not worth the price.

Very kind and professional staff! Loved the parquet floors and glasses! All good
