Cache House

Nice clean hostel. Staff were pleasant. Plenty of showers and bathrooms. Was able to check the bags for a few hours as I arrived before check in time. Not a big concern but there was an additional charge at check in for “incidentals”. Not sure why. I booked thru Expedia which was supposed to be a total invoice. Only additional amenities were coffee and tea. Conveniently located in town. Lots of restaurants, visitor center and the Jackson Rec center within 5 min walk. Would definitely stay again.

It's okay, but expensive for what it is. The pods are quite hit at night, and for some reason the light outside is never turned off throughout the night so light gets into the pods, making it hard to sleep. Also the bathrooms were not the cleanest. Difficult to gets things from luggage in the locker area as well.

Proximity to Downtown 2nd tier bed, if I could change anything, I would ask for a lower tier bed.

Very friendly and helpful staff in the homy lobby. The bathrooms can be improved with shelves or wall hooks for guests clothing and shower accessories. The stairs/entrance are long and narrow with no luggage sliding ramp; not easy to carry suitcases and walk.

We booked a single room for two adults. Got to the office managing this space (no signage indicating “cache house”. We were informed this was a 20 person bunk bed room in the windowless basement. We did not stay. An actual motel

Exactly as described, cost-effective and clean accommodation if spending a night in Jackson.

Location is one block away from the Town Square. Loved that every bed gets their own private bathroom - very unusual for a hostel. There was a spacious ledge on top of the bed to keep personal effects or water bottles, with power plugs, a little table fan and dimmable lighting. With the privacy curtains drawn, it was very hot inside the bunk bed even though the room area outside was cold.

Overall a good stay. The design is modern for a cubby/bunk hostel set up. The location is convenient to Tetons and right in the center of the town. Staff was helpful. Free coffee starting at 7am! There is a tiny lot for the hotel associated with the hostel, so requires street parking. Luckily, we never had to park very far. Not a traditional hostel, so does not have a kitchen/fridge area. The sleeping area had dimmed overhead lights overnight, so if you’re light sensitive bring an eye mask, as the curtain does not have complete coverage. The room/bunk got quite warm even with the provided personal fan, so wish they had set the room to be a bit cooler.

However, the experience was quickly soured by unexpected, poorly explained fees tacked on top of the Expedia booking price, charges that felt excessive for what you actually get. More concerning, however, was the absolute lack of empathy from the staff at Cache House when faced with travel issues. Due to a nightmare travel day, I contacted them early to cancel just my first night, not the entire stay. After being bounced back and forth, Expedia attempted to secure a refund on my behalf, which Cache House flatly refused. When I called to express my frustration, only after I confronted the person by stating it seemed like they had no care, the person assured me they would put my bunk up for sale and issue a refund if it rebooked. Upon arriving the next day, it was glaringly obvious they never made any attempt to resell the bed. They simply didn't care. It’s hard not to feel like they take advantage of guests simply because they can being potentially the only affordable option in the Jackson area. Given the sneaky fees and a profound lack of care I felt, I would not stay here again.

The service was horrible, condescending, as soon as we got there we felt like we were inconvenience. Didn’t explain where the hostel was and then when we came back to ask she made it like it was our problem. Awful service, blonde lady nice, dark brown hair lady was super rude as, need to learn manners and customer service. Couldn’t believe it after a long day of driving, she was huffing and puffing. She was working on the 19th Sep night

Location Bathroom and showers went out. Was unable to use on the last day. Smelled terrible and water and all over the floor. My locker was locked and I called the number countless times with no answer
