Elk Refuge Inn

We enjoyed our stay here. This is a family owned motel, which we prefer. The rooms are nicely decorated and comfortable, and they all overlook a wildlife refuge. The motel is one of the closest to Grand Tetons National Park, which allowed us to avoid traffic in Jackson. There’s a gas station next door with a convenience store that has good coffee. Close enough to Jackson for us to get groceries and find restaurants, but much quieter and less touristy. Patty had good suggestions for wildlife viewing and nearby food options. They really care about their guests’ satisfaction and respond quickly to any issues. I would definitely recommend this motel and would happily go back.

Loved this place, it was cozy, great kitchen and perfect for our needs. Close to the park and out of the mayhem! On drawback is the traffic is right there and you can hear it.

We had an outstanding stay! Staff we encountered were Giovanni and Patti and they were excellent, friendly, helpful, willing to do whatever would make the stay better. The location was outstanding. We loved being just outside Jackson and having the views of the Elk Refuge and surrounding area rather than being inside a crowded city. The room and layout were very spacious and equipped with everything one would need. Being able to park in front of the room was exceptional and really helpful. We hope to be back and stay here again.

Closeness to town

Parking was easy, staff was very nice, room was extremely clean. Will absolutely stay here again.

Great location we sat outside and watched the traffic going into Jackson. Noise road but was given ear plugs if needed which we did not have to use.

We enjoyed the location of Elk Refuge Inn, just outside of town, and the staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. The property itself is a little older and feels somewhat tired in places, and we thought the price was a bit high for the overall condition and amenities. That said, the convenient location and helpful staff were definite positives. With a few updates, this could be a very nice place to stay.

Very clean and well-maintained property. Great location and views with easy access to both Jackson and Teton NP. The room had everything we needed with a kitchenette and on site laundry was a bonus.

This Inn is a great place to stay! The people were all very friendly and helpful. The room was spotless and neat. The Inn is just a few miles from Jackson, Wy. The hotel rates are very reasonable for the area. I highly recommend this Inn for anyone to stay there! Beautiful and scenic area!

The location suited us well, close enough to town without all the hubbub and on the north side of Jackson, so closer to the park. Communication was excellent before arrival. We received texts with check in procedure and our room was even ready a little early. Communication continued to be excellent throughout our 2 night stay. The room and kitchenette had everything we needed. The view was lovely but we weren’t generally there long enough to just sit and enjoy it. During our visit in early September, as expected, no elk at the refuge. The only negative would apply to light sleepers as the hotel is situated on the main road. Ear plugs were provided but we didn’t need them. I would definitely stay here again if lucky enough to visit Jackson and the Grand Tetons!

Excellent room, spacious, comfortable and very relaxing. Great staff, assisted with the laundry immediately and vey efficient checking/checkout. The highway is noisy, but slept fine without any problems. Park right outside your room.

The location was great—just outside of town on the road to and from the park. It was very convenient for our days in the park, and we were able to avoid some of the traffic that backs up going into Jackson. Being on that side of town also put us closer to the airport, which was a plus. A special shout-out to Patti at the front desk—she is an absolute gem! So friendly, welcoming, helpful, and genuinely interested in making sure guests have a great stay. She definitely added to our experience. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would happily stay here again!

This property is amazing. Our room was perfect for our 2 night stay. Close to Jackson Holand Grand Tetons. Room includes amazing views and a kitchenette. Staff are excellent and very helpful. This was truly worth the stop. Very reasonable price for Jackson Hole.

I liked very little about the property! No regular amenities that u would find at any other hotel/lodge facility. No internet/TV/Frig/AC. Security was a joke..someone (customer) ended up coming in my room with an access key while I was in my room...that was unacceptable!! For the price...very poor lodge/facility!! not recommended!! I did have my own bathroom....that's nice! Staff...poor! Places/choices to eat.....POOR...prices crazy, service below average. It's a shame that a great/beautiful natural resource like that is not properly managed! What a shame!

We loved our stay at Elk Refuge Inn, just outside Jackson, super convenient but still quiet. The room was spotless and well stocked with a Keurig, mini fridge, microwave, plus shampoo, conditioner, lotion and even a hairdryer. The views were fantastic and having a gas station and convenience store just a short walk away was really handy. We also loved the free bike rentals, such a nice touch, and the guest laundry made the trip easy. We’d absolutely stay here again.

The king apartment was huge and very relaxing. Staff was friendly, helpful and gave great advice. Being on the edge of town made it easier to access with the crazy Jackson traffic.

Lots of road noise. Need better pillows.
