Clarion Hotel & Convention Center Joliet

Late night arrival after a last minute decision to stay. Hotel was not very clean, elevator was broken, breakfast didn't look good (we didn't eat it). Only stay here if it's the only option.

Horrible stay at this hotel. Doors to the hotel on side entrances were never locked at any time of the day or night, the room was dirty, the knob to our bathroom door was falling off and asked for it to be fixed and that never happened. The air conditioner stopped working in our room and that couldn't be fixed. With over 90 degree weather we asked for a refund to find a different hotel. Also, the pool was filled with weeds and was un-usable. It was not a good experience.

Room was clean and staff was nice, that’s where the good stops. Loose faucets, weak AC, no lobby or hallway AC, featured bar/restaurant in the description shut down 4 months ago, elevator on our side of the building didn’t work, and the property was not well maintained.

We had water leak in the bathroom. They turned into bubbles. Need to be some upgrading. Thank you.

The cleanliness of the bathroom was poor. Trash and used towels were left in the hallways for hours. Ice machine was out of order on our floor. One of the elevators was out of order. The pool has been closed for an extended amount of time. The amenities listed on website were not what we experienced during our stay. Homeless person sleeping outside in front of the lobby after our first night’s stay.

Pool had no water. People smoking right by the entrance. Smoke alarm falling off the wall and drywall patching exposed. BUT- the staff were very friendly and helpful.

My stay was very nice. Checked in super late and was very quick. The room was very clean and beds were comfy. The breakfast was one of the best I've had ever staying at a hotel. Had a hot buffet breakfast and was very good. I came for the nascar races and it was a short drive from the hotel which was nice. I recommend staying here if you are coming to the area

And the hotel needs to be torn down and rebuilt

I was shocked when we pulled up to the hotel. It was in no way close to what it was portrayed in the app we reserved on. Pictures showed a nice outdoor pool. The pool area had trees in it and the cover was ripped. The concrete had grass growing in the huge cracks. Didn’t look like it had been used in years. The air was damp and musty. The keys didn’t work for the outside doors so you had to stick a rock in the frame to get back in if you went it that way. The carpets in the hall are dirty and stained. There were leak stains n the ceilings, no access to the “fitness room”, the bathrooms by the front desk were disgusting. The elevators have not been inspected since March of 2025 and before that June of 2022. Did not ruin our weekend, however we will need t be staying there again. Also, hotels.com needs to update their photos on their app.

Room and service was good but unfortunately slow WiFi as someone uses his laptop.

Was having trouble connecting to the WiFi but staff was super helpful and was able to resolve my issue.

The place felt tired, new door locks had been installed, often crooked, and the doors not repainted, the elevator by the front desk wasn't working so it was a long walk to the end of the hallway and then a long walk back to get to room 306. The bed was comfortable and I slept well.

The gentleman at the check in desk was very kind. I had driven for nearly 9 hrs and was very tired but, he was extremely help and not irritated at 10pm. There were no lights in the drive up or the parking lot.

The pool has not been open for a very long time. One elevator was not working had a walk down the hall to the other elevator.

Broken elevator. Pool looked like it was under construction, not able to use. Staff very helpful, hot breakfast was good. Room clean and comfortable.

Close to home Elevator out of order. Hard to adjust HVAC.
