Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Kalamazoo

Good except a few glitches.

Room was clean but one of the washclothes seemed to be stained from dirt and the mattress felt worn out.

There is gas/smoke smell in the room. The bath tube drain is clogged. They don't make the bed in my 5 days stay.

Breakfast was delicious and rooms and facility were clean. Staff was friendly. I stayed 5 nights and the morning after my first night I asked if my blinds and curtains could be fixed as they didn’t close all the way. I was advised maintenance hasn’t come in for several days and to use a hanger with clips to hold it closed. This worked partially but they were never fixed the entire stay.

Can be improved: breakfast was on the weak side, repeated, few options, not attending staff so things went out but no refill. Check in staff was friendly, but other stuffs were not greeting and didn’t seem to care. Swimming pool is really small, but with warm water, so likely it is intended for small kids only.

The hotel staff was very helpful from check in to check out. The hotel overall was pleasant. The pool room, was very dark, the water did not smell good, and it appeared overall unclean. This was disappointing and my group was looking forward to swimming during our stay.

My stay was enjoyable but breakfast was cold.

We got in super late our first night and just crashed, so we had slept in that mess. They just gave us a new room, didn't offer us anything else. 😮

Clear example of corporate greed , charge an arm and a leg and yet no efforts towards maintenance of property . From mattresses to bathroom shower head , the property was at best mediocre.

Everything was really good

Clean and comfortable and the staff was very friendly! I got an extra charge on my debit card 2 hours after I went to sleep. Made one purchase for $9 myself and went up to sleep. A $10 purchase was made 2 hours later while I was sleeping. Not happy about that at all.
