unique place to stay. convenient location. nice staff. Breakfast was not healthy at all. Almost every item was full of refined sugar. TV remote didn't work. The water was very rusty. The bed was extremely soft and difficult to sleep on.

Wonderful property with very good breakfast and superb dinner: beef Wellington, duck breast, onion soup! Everything perfect!

I like the quietness of the place. It needs a little work, but it's an old castle. It's to be expected. Very cozy atmosphere. History and rooms are really neat to explore. It is definitely a returnable place to stay

Beautifully old architecture, furnishings, lighting etc. The staff was excellent, food and drinks were excellent. The hot tubs and sauna were a nice touch to our stay. The set up on the rooftop was nice. It took a bit for our room to cool down.

. The castle itself along with the breakfast was lovely. The hot tub and resistance pool were nice but sandy and not super clean. We stayed in the cottage behind the castle which I believe is a much different experience that staying inside the castle itself. The cottage was actually the garage divided into 2 spaces. There were stains on the sheets that were on the Murphy bed (looked to be ketchup that had not been laundered). Two separate door knobs fell off of the French doors on our bedroom just from touching them within minutes of entering. The worst part though by far was the bathroom. The walls were crumbling and the toilet is so close the shower that your feet are in water when you use the toilet. It was just dilapidated and not well cared for. The castle itself along with the breakfast was lovely.

Love the castle decor and able to view so many rooms. The breakfast was fabulous. Loved the Victorian room we stayed in. Need upgrade on room air conditioner.

Plenty of room outside to relax and enjoy the day and weather. Chef accommodated to the fact that we made reservations for dinner late and the meal was well worth it. Never had lamb and pork chops this good. The staff was very helpful and accommodating explained to us that we didn’t necessarily need to have formal wear for dinner. This was a relief since we were on a road trip and didn’t plan staying there until last minute. We celebrated our 31st anniversary and will never forget the experience.

Age and history maintained in excellent condition. No elevator in operation, but they are working to get it operational.

WE DID GET TO SWITCH ROOMS. WE SHOULD HAVE BEEN TOLD ABOUT THE BROKEN BATHROOM SINK.

A historic building with 130 years history, everything was amazing, each room, the decoration, breakfast……, rooftop is a highlight! Must visit place in Kalamazoo! It is a real castle! Because of the complicated design of this building, I totally understand it’s very difficult to renovate or remodel many parts of this beautiful hotel.

The friendliness of , the font desk receptionist, above and beyond service.

Intrigue for the history. Wish more handicap accessible. But u sweat and the limits for historical value.

The location and free parking are convenient and the mansion itself is beautiful. Most of the staff was very nice. Breakfast was disappointing, the room wasn't set up for 2 beds as requested, and the furnishings and bathroom felt outdated and not totally clean. Our bathroom flooded in the middle of our stay and we were moved to another property several miles away into rooms that smelled moldy and whose bathroom sinks didn't drain. We weren't offered a discount for the inconvenience until we specifically asked, and the owner ignored us at breakfast the following morning instead of asking how our stay in the other property was. For $630+ for two nights, we did not have the luxury experience we hoped for.

So Much beauty, So Much History, The house is haunted but in a good way the spirits are friendly and playful. We brought are ghost stuff and the ghost didn’t disappoint. Would love to return. Only two things the beds where not very comfortable. Our room was very tight around the room but we where not there for sleeping we where there for ghost hunting. The other thing was the continental breakfast was not much and they need to supply bigger cups for coffee . But it was for the experience it was very fancy.

The place is beautiful....staff great... just what I was looking for. Not your typical hotel. For such a beautiful place there was paint splatter on door wood work. It didn't have any impact on my stay though.
