Can't wait to stay here again

Delightful! Relaxing, well put together. Simply a vacation of it's own. I could have stayed at the hotel all weekend. Friendly and definitely unique.

1. Sound isolation is problematic, especially for light sleepers.

The aesthetic of the hotel was pretty cool and having private parking was great. The parking is first come first serve, but there is also parking in the street around the property. The room size was comfortable. The location of the property was ideal and close to the city but still in a private and quiet area which was nice. While the room was clean in visible areas, there was a lot of dust in some areas in the bathroom and bedframe. The door to enter the property was difficult to open after putting the code provided since it doesn’t close properly. I called the number provided for any inquiries associated with the reservation and they were very helpful. The assistance provided helped resolve the door issue.

The decor was unique and carefully curated and the bed was very comfortable! Lovely property.

One of the nicest boutique hotels I have ever stayed in. Very unique and in a great area, although far away from downtown which was too important to me on this trip. When to a recommended fabulous restaurant within walking distance for amazing Italian food and ambience. It is a very eclectic and young area.

Just about everything else about our stay was frustrating and it is INSANELY over-priced for a place that does not even offer/include breakfast ($526 for 2 nights). You are paying boutique bed and breakfast prices for a self check-in air BNB feel. En route to the hotel we received a text from the owners inviting us to pre-check in. We were driving and tired so responded we'd prefer to just check in on arrival - we were told pre-check in was compulsory, so checking in in-person is not offered. We then received an email with entry instructions, as well as a text at 8pm saying they were 'turning in for the evening', so they were not present at check in to help with problems. We had explicitly booked this hotel because free parking was included. Only in the check-in email did they then state that there were limited parking spaces and it was first come first serve. Rather than a Google map link, the parking instructions were an image of a map, so it took us 2 attempts to even find the parking. They had a total of THREE parking spaces, all taken. When we texted to ask, they just said we could park on-street, which was extremely annoying after a long drive to have to unload our car, then drive off to find a parking spot blocks away from the hotel. It took a few attempts to get the entry code to open the door. Our room was on the second floor with no elevator. This was not a huge issue for us to carry heavy bags up stairs, but having no concierge and no elevator is something they should mention before you book in case guests are less able-bodied. The room (2B) was incredibly cramped. When I first entered I looked for a table or desk to set my purse and water bottle on... there wasn't one, so we relied on window sills. The sink was in the bedroom instead of the bathroom (which backed up the moment we used it to brush our teeth) and it was just a sink with no vanity, so nowhere to set down toiletries.

Spacious, comfortable and well located Lack of breakfast items (croissants, muffins etc)

excellent hotel tucked right into the heart of the museum district. amazing decor and wonderful sleep on the comfortable mattress and luxury linens. we have found our spot when we visit kc! def stay at the truitt

Location and outside areas are pretty including the garden area. Room was clean and tidy but sound isolation between rooms is pretty poor. I could easily hear the people next door (including their snoring). I also didn’t appreciate pulling into the parking area to see a large trans flag hanging from the building. Businesses should remain neutral on divisive topics.

The Truitt is an impeccable property with pristine service and quality. We enjoyed every minute of our stay here. Our room was beautifully decorated with an exceptionally comfortable bed. The bathroom was perfect with fluffy towels and everything you need for a perfect stay. The complimentary coffee with madeleines and fresh apples were a welcoming sight after a long day of traveling. The enchanting fireflies met us on the lawn as we made our way to the door with our luggage. A stay that will not disappoint. Book with confidence and enjoy the beauty and charm that this restored colonial house has to offer. We will be back the next time we travel through Kansas City.

Beautiful honeymoon stay Had some trouble checking in. The room & stay were a gift but the check in email and codes were not sent to the guests… and even with prior conversations and assurances there would be no problems with truitt staff (not on site), this created a 30 minute drama when the guests (honeymoon couple) arrived to check in.
