Clarion Hotel & Conference Center Lansing West

The only thing I didn't like/know about, was there's a deposit that they will charge at the hotel.

The pool is nice

Heated indoor pool, comfortable bed, huge room, fridge and microwave in the room and free hot breakfast

When arriving at the check in time, we were told the rooms were being cleaned and would be done soon. It took 45 minutes before our rooms were ready, and when getting into the rooms, we quickly found that they had not been cleaned well. The blankets were covered with stains and the beds were not fully made. The floor was covered in crumbs and the bathrooms weren’t wiped down. We quickly decided we did not feel comfortable staying here and cancelled our reservation. The lobby of the hotel was run down with stains on the walls and water damage throughout the roof. The parking lot in the back of the hotel was almost unusable with how many pot holes there were.

The property is under renovation .But it’s so dirty! Material was left all over. Multiple trash can in the hallway because the roof leaks. Our trip started bad. Our door lock broke. With our stuff in it. Stuff happens. The walls ceiling were stained .The room had a wall mount for the tv but our tv was small and not mounted and it stopped working. You could easily hear people and the tv in other room easily. The breakfast was horrible. Powered eggs, soggy hash brown patties and sausage links. One waffle maker so you had to wait a long time for a waffle. You had to have a ticket for breakfast. You couldn’t take your food to your room if you wanted and if you did they would charge you $20 for doing it. End up leaving a day early. I would definitely people not to go to this hotel. I’m currently trying to get some money back for the night we didn’t stay. It was a horrible experience. Would not recommend this hotel. Multiple hotels in the area so try those options first.

They are undergoing renovations. We were told we had a renovated room. Not even close plaster everywhere, broken windo shade. Wall paper falling off wall, shower faucet almost fell off wall. Dirty sheets sticky floor.

The hotel was close to my visit location. I was initially concerned with the older negative reviews during the remodel but was pleasantly surprised to get a remodeled room. It wasn’t perfect but painted with newer mattress and furniture. Effort was made. The hot breakfast was pretty good as well. Parking was unclear. I got lucky and found a spot up front. If I hadn’t, parking would have been in the back or side and it was dark.

Night was okay

Rooms had a type of hardwood floors very uncomfortable on bare feet. There were cracks in the ceiling were water damage was obvious. No ventilation in the bathroom and the water pressure was terrible. It was obvious that an extremely extended family lived in and worked in the hotel. Construction materials were laying all around the parking lot and no real construction or renovation was happening. I definitely will not stay there again.

The spa was nasty. The hot tub didn't work. The roof was leaking. Black mold everywhere

The hotel was in a good spot, but the room was not clean. The bed was not clean, the sheets were not not clean and had spots on them and the comforter was not clean. The bathroom was not clean and had spots on it floor and in the bathtub and some of the towels were not clean. I was on business so I was in and out. I will not choose this hotel again I will choose one of the others in the area. Thank you.

The beds, linens were actually clean and comfortable. The air conditioner worked well. Furniture was newer. Fridge and microwave were decent.

There was poop all over in the bathroom, and the bed dirty

When we arrived at the hotel, the front desk manager told us that there were no longer King rooms available, despite our confirmation. As he searched for an available alternative, I reminded him that we also had paid the extra $40 fee to bring our dog. He said "Oh my God - you have a dog, too!? We already have 6 on property." I reminded him that the hotel was advertised as pet friendly. He suddenly found a King on the first floor "where dogs have to stay" and said we were required to put down a $100 deposit, which would be refunded if we didn't damage the room. We agreed. He told us we had to drive around to the back of the property to access the room. The back side of the hotel looked like a filthy demolition site with broken windows covered in plastic, tons of trash and debris and what looked like abandoned construction equipment. Our room looked dirty and our bare feet turned black from walking on the linoleum floor. The next morning, we discovered that the self- proclaimed "superior breakfast," which you had to submit plastic tokens to access, was a minimal assortment of the usual stuff - stale breads, powdered eggs, "best value" yogurt and Tang versus actual orange juice. We had to ask the attendants to make more coffee while we waited at a sticky table. This was clearly a franchise operation but I'm surprised Clarion would let them use their brand name and allow such disgusting conditions. Spend $50 more and find a better hotel. I took pictures!

Room was filthy, there was used fake nails on the floor and hair ties. The bathroom faucet was crusted with debris and plaster dust over all the surfaces. The odor was horrendous. We reserved a ground floor room and was given one on the 3rd floor. Breakfast was not complimentary. We seen the pool was dirty and the hot tub was shut down. Do not stay here!

There was so many sketchy people at this place and our walls had bubbles of water inside the paint I’ve never felt so hesitant on a hotel I’ve picked would not recommend i also was charged an extra 100$ for my deposit I was supposed to get back find a better place for an extra 20$

The price was excellent. The grounds are very run down as well as the inside. Great place to stay if you’re just looking for a place to sleep. Staff was excellent!!! Breakfast was not great i would make plans to eat somewhere else very limited food even though we got there when it first opened. The clearly didn’t restock things for the next day. Cereal was stale & eggs were cold. We stayed 3 nights & had no maid service. Also had to have our keys reactivated multiple times.

Passable

It was pretty much what I would expect for the price. I did have to clean the room myself a little bit. The TV stand / dresser was caked with dust and I had to clean that off as well as the desk and the end tables myself. Also I found a cockroach in my bathroom alive and well. The breakfast was downright terrible the cereal was stale, the milk was always warm, and the coffee was just something else it was the worst coffee I ever tasted. Although they did always have somebody cleaning the lobby and the elevators and wiping down the glass so that was nice. So overall I rate it a three out of a five. Oh and one last thing the first night I got my key it opened a room to where somebody else was in the room. So I walked in on somebody else that had reserved the room.
