The Century House Latham - North Albany, an Ascend Collection Hotel

My ac couldn’t change temps so had to turn it off bc it was cooooold.

The location is excellent and the front desk staff are wonderful. The decor is a little dated, but the price is very good. They still have the breakfast also which is always very good. We missed the restaurant though! Wish it was still there.

Anyway, great hotel, super nice staff, clean rooms, nice pool. All in all, a great stay. *I do need to comment on the breakfast since so many reviews raved about it...I actually found it to be quite standard hotel fare. Nothing special. I do appreciate that they use real tableware and not plastic! :)

We went for our anniversary weekend, had such a relaxing time, the pool was beautiful,the breakfast was real! Real dishes and waitstaff ! Place was cozy and calm. Beds were excellent along with pillows. Staff was super accommodating- will definitely return

Needed a short stay in the Albany area and after reading reviews and comparing prices settled in this hotel. It exceeded our expectations in all aspects. The price was great, the rooms were large and clean and the staff was friendly and engaging. Amenities such as the lobby coffee and hydration station were also excellent.

They sent us to a dirty room first. Then the room we got was musty and the shower gel bottle was empty.

Very nice rooms and interior. Would definitely stay again. Breakfast was wonderful. The exterior and parking lot were a bit rundown which is deceiving because once we entered the main entrance to the lobby, we were put at ease. Very friendly and accommodating personnel.

Two story hotel with no elevator access; asked for a room on first level and told nothing was available. Had to schlup two heavy suitcases up a flight of stairs; my wife is somewhat limited but did manage to make it up.

Loved our accommodations the friendly staff, home baked cookies and delicious breakfast!

I wanted something different & not just white everything. This place has some real personality. I love the dark colored theme, especially blackout curtains that helped me sleep an extra hour or so. The bed was much more comfortable than most places I've stayed recently & while I didn't utilize them, they had a couch and a bench for seating, along with a desk and chair. I really appreciate it that they had a clock with the USB ports on it which I'm finding a lot of hotels don't have. There was plenty of parking & as a smoker, I appreciated that there was a side entrance/exit to the lot so I didn't have to walk through the lobby a bunch & it was very close to my room. The shower got really hot & had great water pressure. The room seemed very clean. There were only 2 things I would say could be better. The housekeeping staff knocked & entered my room at 9:30am as if they thought we had checked out already, so I'd say they need better communication about which rooms to clean & when. The other thing was very minor but confusing, the door to the shower in our room was just one single sheet of glass that only shields the showerhead side of the shower. So the other half of the shower is just open, which makes for a slightly cold experience & a wet floor. I didn't remove any stars since these are such minor issues & I really liked how quiet & comfortable my stay was. Would recommend & will probably be back. Oh, and Google says the restaurant is permanently closed so no food on site.

The front desk staff warmly welcomed us and were genuinely enthusiastic to assist. Our room was cozy, and the breakfast selections were simply fantastic! While there's no room service, such as housekeeping or fresh towels, it would be great if they offered that, given the cost and lovely amenities. I believe enhancing service could elevate the overall experience here!

Good service Room could have been a little cleaner, but not too bad.

The bathroom was well designed and outfitted. The lobby needs freshening up which, I understand, is beginning soon.

Had a great vibe. Was bright and had wide hallways. Having no elevator was a problem. The staff were not staying on top of the coffee at breakfast and in the lobby all day. Was cold or empty. Front desk wasn't helping things that wasn't their job. The room was clean and modern though.

Bathroom was updated Room was very dated, fridge was warm, comforter and sheets had red stains, hallway smelled. Breakfast was real basic, ran out of bagels.

La première journée le petit déjeuner était parfait. Par contre la deuxième journée, il n’y avait pu de bagel, ni de pain pour les toasts. Les chambres sont propres. Le personnel est accueillant. Beaucoup d’espace extérieur pour relaxer. La piscine fut très apprécié

Very good value for the money, very clean, super friendly staff and hot breakfast.
