The Century House Latham - North Albany, an Ascend Collection Hotel

Lovely old school facility with enough new amenities to make the stay wonderful. The breakfast is excellent and the server is super friendly. Although the grounds are a bit dark at night, we were able to find our way to the entrance. I would gladly stay again.

Every thing was clean. The staff were friendly. Breakfast was good. There was lots of parking available.

Reasonably priced with clean, comfortable beds and bathroom. Its location was great for our family visit/ activities. Housekeeping could do a better job dusting. The lamps and several tabletops were very dusty and areas around the doors were dirty. It could use a bit more attention. Overall though a very good experience.

In a busy area but this tucked away in a quiet spot. Comfy bed. The room needs a good cleaning on the tops of the lamps and the tops of the drawers in the closet cubby.

Close to Albany Airport. Good, full included breakfast and comfortable beds.

Close to the airport, quiet section of town. The hotel has character, an older feeling in a good way. Nothing to dislike.

Breakfast waitress was amazing!

Room was clean and bed was comfortable. There is a colonial charm to the place that I bet feels very cosy in the winter when the fireplaces are fired up. The breakfast was one of the best parts, with very respectable coffee served not only then, but all day along with iced and flavored water and even a carafe of Arnold Palmer! The waitress at breakfast was a joyful flood of enthusiasm that was even stronger than the coffee for waking me up! There's a bit of rust on the bathroom door which probably would be fixed easily with some paint and a way to keep the shower from spraying all over the door and floor. And I wished they had a real arcade room as advertised, but they did have a few puzzles to work on. Great for a short stay.

Coffee and water being available during the day, the cookies were delicious as well No elevator, but that is not unexpected due to the historical nature of the building

It's a really quiet place, despite being so close to a major road

Cons: My first room smelled strongly of mildew / mold. I asked to be moved and they changed my room. The new room smelled better. The hotel is a bit run down. Note: It's difficult to find the driveway down the the parking lot at night due to poor outdoor lighting. Look for a small sign at the top of an entrance that winds down to the entrance. Make sure to turn left at the bottom. Overall: Loved how quiet it was. Too expensive for what it was.

One of the standout positives was the breakfast staff. There was one particular server who was exceptionally friendly, attentive, and helpful, and really made the breakfast experience enjoyable. Unfortunately, there were also some significant drawbacks. We were very disappointed that there was no elevator or ramp to the second floor. This could be a major concern for anyone with mobility limitations or difficulty navigating stairs. The bathroom was another issue. The shower did not have a full door or any type of ledge/threshold to contain the water, making it virtually unavoidable for the entire bathroom floor to become wet after showering. This created a potentially dangerous slipping hazard. We also had problems with the TV remotes, which was frustrating during our stay. Overall, the hotel has a lot going for it — cleanliness, friendly staff, a plentiful breakfast, and a unique atmosphere — but the accessibility and bathroom design issues are significant and should be addressed. With improvements in these areas, this could be a much more comfortable and enjoyable place to stay.

A little difficult to find in the dark but other than that, fantastic stay and well updated property. Breakfast was great!
