Tuscan Garden Inn

This place is fine just for a clean place to sleep. It's cheaper than any other hotels in the area. There is a reason it's cheap. The neighborhood is way beyond scary! Check in at 3 pm so you can have your car in their lot... parking lot is extremely small, better not have anything bigger than a sedan. You don't want your car parked on the street. Uber rides cheap to most site seeing areas. Coffee at 7 am and ice machine works but don't expect anything else. Hotel well worn but air conditioning, TV, fridge worked. Shower had very low pressure. Sheets, towels and bathroom clean and unstained. Bed, pillows comfortable but nothing 5 star. If your looking to save money and a hotel that you will just sleep at and spend your time site seeing, it works great.

great hotel with great rates for downtown LA.

While staff were great, there were crickets crawling in the lobby as soon as we got there, homeless and drug users on the property and no security protecting the property. Will be avoiding if possible in the future.

The location is good. The facilities are quite decent, and clean. The staff are friendly The wifi didn’t work well in the room unfortunately

We had stayed a few times in the past and it was always excellent which is why we stayed again. It has been about 3 or so years since our last stay and this one wasn't great. The remote control was missing from our room so my husband tried calling, our room phone didn't work so he went to the front desk. The guy at the desk wasn't helpful at all. No apologies and no solution. All he said was it should be there (we checked EVERYWHERE and no remote) and if its not then maybe housekeeping took it. No offer to replace or to move rooms. We were able to turn on the TV and after we figured out how to access the controls only the volume worked. It was stuck the whole time on ESPN. Not sure if that's the only channel they had or if the controls didn't work. The next day we left for the entire day, got back to the room after 3 and still wasn't made up. We went all weekend with no housekeeping. The beds were also super hard. Ugh, not staying there again.

Exceptional

Mostly clean and comfortable. Working AC. Fridge. Was able to reserve the room the day before. Good location. Only available parking space was very tight. Shower head was a little loose. Couldn't keep in a fixed position.

Bed was sad - otherwise room was fine.

I was nice

There’s air conditioning! That’s about the only positive thing I can say about this property. Staff aren’t unfriendly but are not efficient. Rooms have many broken fixtures, no security locks, itchy sheets, stained walls. Towels are tiny and thin. Shower curtain frayed. Bed hard as a rock with old tiny pillows. No security to the parking, terrible neighborhood with homeless drug addicts and trash everywhere.

Dirty blankets, perfect for a drunk crashing the bed to not drink and drive, but it would be way better to sleep in your car, guy in front repeatedly kept swiping my card after I told him to stop and wait until I transfer my funds. Again, i don’t mind a lot of the outside area but when it’s inside where I sleep?? I want NO hair, NO crumbs, NO BUGS, in the room.

Someone staying in the hotel slashed tires at night of people who unknowingly parked near their room. Police did nothing and last I heard they are still in the hotel.

Close to downtown LA We saw a cockroach crawling a soon as we got into our room.

Rooms were functional, fairly well maintained and clean linen, but once you looked closer at the walls there was a lot of remnants of previous visitors, including a dodgy message written under the lamp shade.

There was stray hair on the towels and bedding. All the fabric— towels, sheets, blankets, pillowcases, were rough. The lobby is nice and the room seemed well cleaned though. Checking and check out was pretty easy, but we had to wait a couple minutes for someone to show up to the front desk to help us check in. There is no bell to ring for service, and the phone call we placed was not answered. They have really old hand soap and there’s only an all in one soap in the shower. No shampoo or conditioner. But it smelled nice.
