I arrived at the hotel and nobody was at the front desk to check me in. I had to call for someone to come out and help me. And I never saw anyone else at the front desk all 10 days that I stayed. The staff was always annoyed whenever someone needed them for something. The room smelt like marijuana half of the time and the staff blamed it on other people cooking in the hotel. The room was dirty, outdated, sub par, and does not look like the photos online when I booked. Needless to say, I was disappointed.

We had a great stay. Unfortunately, the bathroom was not clean. Urine on the toilet when we arrived and used soap and shampoo left in the shower. And the table in the main room had something sticky all over it. Otherwise, great location and excellent staff for check in.

I had reservations and upon arrival, decided to go elsewhere, due to the rude, disrespectful, irritated demeanor of the front desk clerk. I did tell her that I would not stay if it was free due to her attitude. She was unfriendly, impatient, seemed even irritated that that I had approached the front desk. She did not even try to stand up straight at the desk, just lazily leaning on her elbows, not even looking me in the eye. Kept wiping her runny nose on collar of her shirt. I told her that I would send a review and possibly speak to manager. She said it won't matter that nothing would change anyway! And I actually believe her.

Quiet walkable to campus lots of food options

This is one of the most affordable hotels around Liberty University and definitely the closest. It's super convenient to the campus especially the football field. However, it meets the classic idiom you get what you pay for. Be aware it is a pet friendly hotel, ie there was one or two small pieces of dog food on the floor that were missed by the cleaners. The room was fairly clean, enough to meet my cost based standards but did not meet my wife's standard. For me, the sheets were clean and the bed was well made. Sheets and towels were fluffy and comfortable. The room appeared generally modern but the kitchen appliances were a bit dated. In favor of her opinion there were a few bugs in the kitchen sink, and worst there was a chewed piece of gum placed on the top of the head board. The staff struggles to be friendly and inviting but will meet your needs. We walked into the hotel late, around 11, and my key did not work. I had to ring the front desk and the woman reprogrammed my key but was brusque and grumpily asked "did you let the key be near something electronic like a cell phone?' Of course I did, the key was in my pocket, was I supposed to wrap it in tin foil or lock it in in an RFI bag? SO if your looking for a clean(ish) inexpensive place to leave your luggage while hanging out with your kids at Liberty this is your place. If your standards are higher or have pet allegies you might want to look elsewhere.

Checked in late night staff was a little rude didn’t have any cups had to go ask and she was not pleased to have to get them for me.
-
kitchen had no plates, no pot, spoons and forks, hot water mugs. Kitchen was absolutely empty! It took 15-20 min to obtain some kitchenware to prepare late meal for ourselves. It would be right to provide some tea/sugar/solt/paper. All hotels and motels provide it on the regular basis.

Great room

I had to ask to checkout after going to my room. The smell was so bad it was triggering an instant headache. Did not stay longer then 12 minutes.

No dishes. Bring your own bowls. Noise is from the highway behind you if on the back side

Found the property dated and untidy. Getting towels was limited to 4 hrs per day and staff weren’t friendly.

We had a great welcome from the young lady that was at the front desk and no problems checking in. We were sent to our room and the room was dark all curtains closed and no air on. It was stuffy and hot. The first thing was the bathroom light was all messed up and the light very dim, so dim that you could not see the toilet and had to leave the door open to use the bathroom. My husband went to the front desk and the young lady apologized and offered to move us across the hall. We packed up and moved and the room was better but not much. Since the room had a kitchen we decided would be a great since our two like to have food that is hot, so we got the dish tote and of course then stove burners would not heat up. They really need to clean that stove and get it fixed. The microwave worked, but we had no plug to keep water in the sink to wash the dishes we would use. That evening I went to the bathroom to give our 6 year old a bath and there was no plug for the tub and the tub looked dirty with chips in it. The exhaust fan was very loud as well. The beds had to be full size and not very comfortable . We had requested queen size not full. Fortunately we made it work for the two nights we reserved, but know when we return to this area, we will not book at this hotel again. Really needs to be updated and cleaned up and maybe that would help. Plus make sure the lights , stove etc work so your clients can utilize those so not have to eat out all meals. Thank you
