Comfort Inn Lakeside

The room was below par. The breakfast was in another hotel next door so not convenient. Wouldn't go back there.

This was a fun location on a beach in Mackinaw City. We had a balcony room with a beautiful view. An added surprise was fireworks over the Lake - and it wasn't even the Fourth of July. It's walkable to everything in town.

The property looks very clean on the outside in pictures but the exterior walls have not been cleaned in a very long time. The lobby to check in was very clean. The room was very clean as well. Very well stocked with towels, washcloths, and hand towels. It was very aggravating to get the luggage to the room with the cart as you have to go to the other end of the building for the elevator and go through 2 hallways and doors and maneuver thru very narrow hallways. There was no lock on the balcony door.

The place has a great price value ratio, the staff at the reception could be friendlier but the not-too-welcoming communication style was similar across Mackinaw City so it might not be the hotel’s fault. The place has excellent location, right at the port to Mackinac Island, free parking and buffet breakfast. Overall, I recommend it.

When checking in I saw mice and the rooms were not clean. Did not stay.

We liked the view of the lake Had to share the elevator with another property and it was not easy to access.

Location The first impression upon checking in was unpleasant , unhelpful staff. It wasn’t easy figuring out how to get upstairs w our luggage. Bfast was in a different hotel & also not easy to find. Our room had a layer of dust on the wall above our bed. And there was a huge gap between the mattresses & headboards that would swallow your pillow during the night.

This is right on the water and has a nice private balcony overlooking the water and beach. The beds are comfortable and rooms have plenty of space. Good location and plenty of good food options near by. The mayflies are annoying and there are so many of them. Good thing they don't bite, but they are just annoying. No elevator in the building. The elevator is shared with Hampton, which is attached to the building.

The location was convenient for walking distance to the shops, restaurants, and boat ports for the island. Appreciate clean towels were brought in daily. Our room had a bit of a musty smell. Our screen had some small holes in it allowing the “gnats” in so we were not able to sleep with the balcony door open at night. There were webs & gnats all over the balcony furniture. We did not like having to walk through another hotel (esp. while that hotel was doing staining/painting in their hallways) to get to the eating area (which served the exact same thing each morning).

Completely inaccessible. Lines were 45 minutes long for food I wouldn’t feed my dog. Better bfast program.

Bugs every where, pile of bugs in bathroom, bed and outside. Staff doesn’t want to clean them up or change the room. We checked out 1 day prior to original booking because we can’t even sleep.

Good Room was dust

never went there. Going to another hotel was the choice for the breakfast option. The cleaning of the bathroom was terrible. Toilet ran unless the handle was adjusted after every use. The sink drain plug was covered n mold and the bathroom ceiling fan was filthy. The whole room smelled moldy.

Great breakfast and the beds were extra comfortable.

Breakfast was excellent tasting. Wishes the time frame was longer than 2 hours. The fan in our bathroom was super loud. Couldn't turn light on without waking everyone up.

The two young front office staff were very nice and helpful. The pool area was not updated and looked dirty. The sink in the room was leaking and when I called the front desk, she said someone would come check it out, but no one did while we were there. The room was not cleaned during our stay, only dropped off new towels. Also the beach in the back was dirty. Trash all over it. You also have to go next door to the other hotel for the breakfast that is from 7-9am only. That’s not long enough. Will not recommend this hotel.
