Genuine Old School Feel throughout. Beautiful Bamboo wood dressers... large clean room. Super Cool Floor to Ceiling Tiled Shower, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, HDTV... Bed Coverings are among the softest I have ever felt. Windows on two opposing sides for awesome cross-breeze! Friendly, Helpful Family Owned staff. This place is a nice respite. Highly Recommend!!

Our front window did not have a lock on it (at street level). Had a loose square piece of wood to slide in. Hole in the wall behind bathroom door.

We had an excellent stay at Old Marina Inn during our Big Sur and Monterey trip. We were pleasantly surprised when we were upgraded to a very spacious room with three queen beds, which made our stay extremely comfortable. The property was very quiet and peaceful, allowing us to relax after long days exploring the beautiful Monterey coast and Big Sur. What truly made the experience special was the exceptional hospitality from the front desk staff. The lady at the front desk was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay. Her kindness and willingness to assist made us feel genuinely valued as guests. The location was also very convenient for visiting Monterey, Carmel, Point Lobos, and Big Sur while offering a quieter and more relaxed environment away from the crowds. Overall, this was a wonderful value and a very pleasant experience. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend Old Marina Inn to anyone looking for a comfortable, clean, quiet, and affordable base for exploring the Monterey and Big Sur area.

I’m surprised by how many stars this place had. It was old and rundown and filthy. The sheets were stained. We had a giant black hair on the pillowcase right off the bat. The toilet clogged. We decided to not even shower because the shower was so gross. For around $250 I would’ve expected a little bit more. I know it’s Monterey and everything’s expensive but this was one of the worst hotels I’ve stayed in.

Room was outdated and alittle overpriced for what you get but it wasn’t terrible. Also, they have us a room with three beds instead of two (making it sound like they upgraded us) then they asked us not to use the third bed… I thought that was strange. Why could we not use it? Are they just gonna trust that we didn’t use it and then not clean the sheets? Gross

Great room n staff

Typical for this price range, plumbing issues were an ISSUE however, no steady hot water, no fun taking a shower when it alternates from too cold to too hot.

The staff was horrible Moldy odor

Nice and quiet place. The price is reasonable, and the room is quite clean. There are also some cute cats around, which made the stay even more enjoyable.

Location is good, just right next to a market. All is good but if you expect the room to be air conditioned this is not. However, it’s close to the ocean so you probably don’t need an air conditioning.

When I went to check in the front desk asked me for a DEPOSIT of $100 cash and I would get it back when checking out If my room was not damaged or dirty type of thing. I was just looking for a place to lay my head after a rough day I didn’t have cash on me came from out of town. I informed the front desk I was NOT AWARE I had to bring cash due to me already having the room booked so unfortunately I can’t put the deposit and same with the customer behind she was unaware so she took a second then let us proceed with checking in I just never been asked for a cash deposit anywhere it was strange

It was very clean, the owners were very accommodating and friendly. Checking in and out was very easy and it was 20 mins from Monterey bay aquarium and like 10 from nice beaches. The rates were the best I could find for the location and comfortability.

Internet okay, shops reasonably close, access to freeway close. Good stay.
